Alexander David??

My husband's family has this tradition of naming their first son after two family members that have passed on. In my husband's case it's Alexander and David. I am having a hard time choosing which one should be my lo's first name. To me, David Alexander flow better but a lot of people have that name. However, Alexander David sounds forced. What do you ladies think?

I think the flow of Alexander David is fine, and although Alexander is more popular than David, I'm not a huge fan of the name David.  Which name do you like better?  That is the one I would pick for a FN?  Do you have any deceased relatives from your side of the family you would like to honor to give you more options?

They both sound good, but I like David more than Alexander so I'd switch it to David Alexander. Alexander is more popular among babies born today than David.

I'd probably go with Alexander David, more NN options for Alexander.

Agreed! Besides, if you don't like the tradition or the names, I don't think you are obligated to continue the tradition. You are allowed to choose names that you and your DH like or a MN that honors your family instead.
