for those on your second pregnancy

not sure where I should have posted this...but was just curious...was your second pregnancy easier or harder than your first?? and was it a boy/girl? just wondering if gender makes a difference on what kind of pregnancy you have or not. with my first I was pregnant with a boy...and was horribly sick from weeks 5-24. I've heard a lot of people say that being pregnant with a boy was harder...just looking for thoughts :)

My first was a boy and it was easier with him then this time with a girl. I didnt get morning sickness with either but i did get bad swelling and heartburn with both. the main difference between them is I have had a lot of lower back pain and pain in my pelvis/hip area with her even though I know she wont be nearly as big as my son was.

This is my 2nd pregnancy. 2nd boy. This pregnancy has been easier. I had GD with both, I had other issues in the beginning on this pregnancy, but I'm 35 weeks now, everything is cleared up except the GD. At 34 weeks with my first I was on bedrest for pre-e & ended up being induced/unscheduled c/s at 37 weeks.

 

The hope it is make it to 39 weeks with no more issues this time, but so far this time has been much simpler.

 

No MS with either. I've gained less weight this time...

This is my second pregnancy, both times with a girl. This pregnancy has been much worse than the first. Morning sickness started earlier, lasted longer, and vomiting happened more frequently. I also put on weight faster, started swelling earlier, and started waking up at night to pee sooner. On the positive side, I felt the baby moving much earlier, by several weeks, this time around, and I know when I'm having BH contractions as opposed to the real thing.

Hands down this one has been way harder. Not sure if its just the way it is, I'm older, I weigh more I was a muscular 8 before DS and a in shape, but fluffy 14 this time or gender. They say this is a girl, but they couldn't get the perfect image and can't say 100 With DS I had ms for 3 weeks, this time well into my second trimester, i think it weaned about 20 weeks. Much more pain, soreness, weird other symptoms. Now a forever long early labor....

Everyone is different. I was never sick during any of my pregnancies, but was nauseous at different times. The only difference I've noticed being pregnant with girls than my boy, is I have major heart burn with girls and didn't with my son, also crave more sweets with girls and spicy food with my son. Not sure that's a trend, but that was the only thing that stuck out as different. This being my 3rd pregnancy in 4 years, my body seems more used to being pregnant and easier to cope. With my first I swelled up, second not as bad, this time not at all (yet). I got bigger faster too.

My 1st was a boy and it was so easy. I never got sick and felt great the entire time.

My 2nd pregnancy was horrible.  Sick the entire 1st tri, ok the 2nd, no appetite, brochitius, horrible heartburn, strep throat and 2 cracked ribs in the 3rd.  I had another boy.
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

I'm on my 2nd pregnancy and it's another girl. The only difference I am seeing between the two is that my age (now 38) has REALLY slowed me down a lot (my first DD was 12 ys ago). Not to mention that I am now GD as well.

My first is a boy.  While I had some bleeding and a slight placenta previa, it went away quickly.  I did have morning sickness, but during the middle and end of the pregnancy I felt really comfortable even though I had some swelling.

This pregnancy is a girl.  It has been a crazy ride since day one (all the stories are on my blog- but I was told I miscarried, we were having twins, then just one baby, but we've had like 12 ultrasounds or something like that because of all the issues we've had).  I had morning sickness about to the same degree.  Now, however, my swelling is way worse, I'm MUCH more uncomfortable, and overall, it is nowhere near as pleasant as the end of my first pregnancy was.  I'm not sure if it is because I am chasing around a toddler at home, or not resting as much, or what, but this time is much, much different.

This is my 3rd pregnancy. ALl have been boys, and all pregnancies have been different. I personally don't think it really matters on the gender.  This pregnancy has been the hardest on my body and I feel like maybe age may have something to do with that.  I was 21 with my first pregnancy and am 29 now with this one.

3 pregnancies, 2 babies, both boys.   First pregnancy was uneventful and easy.  This one has been very hard on me but it is what it is.

This is my second time around I had a girl the first time and I am having a boy this time. I think the second pregnancy has been harder on my body, but with DD I was very sick my whole pregnancy and lost a ton of weight. With this one I had no sickness or really any adverse symptoms, I have been more emotional this time than I was last time, and a lot more tired. That could also be because I have a 3 year old now too. Who knows! I would say if I had to choose I would say that my boy was harder, just because it's been harder on my body.

This is my second pregnancy, and second boy.

The first time around I had morning sickness until the second trimester, but from there on out it was smooth sailing. I was very big and all out in front. I gained 52lbs. The only real pain I had was sciatica in the late third trimester. I had no trouble sleeping whatsoever. He came 11 days late and weighed over 10lbs.

This time, I didn't have morning sickness. I felt nauseous here and there, and I threw up maybe twice. In the second trimester I was getting tension headaches pretty well daily. I am about as big as last time, and carrying all out in front again. So far I have gained 36lbs. Since 8 weeks, if I am on my feet for too long, my left leg goes numb. It's got a lot worse now to the point that it feels like its burning. Moving around is a lot more difficult, especially getting up from laying or sitting. My belly feels like its going to rip from the weight. I have occasional sciatic pain, but not too often. I'm up and down all night long. Pretty much every hour if not sooner, to change positions, or pee, or for no reason at all.

All in all, I have loved being pregnant both times, but this time is A LOT more uncomfortable. It was nice not to puke every morning though.

I had horrible nausea, exhaustion, and food aversions in 1st tri with both pregnancies. I was dead set thinking I was having another boy bc my symptoms were so alike. I also have tons of heart burn in 3rd tri with both pregnancies. This time I'm having more round ligament pain which makes walking tons painful! I gained more weight with my first pg, so I have to blame my age (30) or the fact that my body just has to work harder to support my bump this time...

I have a boy and this LO is a girl.

I am having a girl this time and it has been a really, really rough pregnancy.

I dont think it has ANYTHING to do with the gender of the baby.

My pregnancies with my two boys were a breeze....hardly any morning sickness at all.  This time around we are having a girl, the first trimester was AWFUL.  I had morning sickness so bad I could hardly function in the mornings.  Since then, this pregnancy has been fairly easy.

My first was a boy and really easy. I was working up until I was overdue, felt great and looked cute.

This one is a girl and is wreaking havoc on my body. Its messing with my thyroid and my blood sugar and my bones. I can barely get off the couch most days.

I was also much younger with my first. Having a younger body probably had something to do with it.

This is my second pregnancy.  First was a boy, this one is a girl.  They've been pretty much exactly the same - sick during 1st tri, better 2nd tri, lost of discomfort and pelvic pain in 3rd tri once baby turned head down.  I do feel more comfortable than I did at this point with DS, but I think it's because I'm taking better care of myself (i.e. doing special exercises, seeing a chiro, and I lost weight before this pregnancy) because I really wanted to avoid the level of pain I had with the SPD last time.  The pain is still present, but as of right now it's more controlled because of what I'm doing.

This one has been far worse as far as the side effect.  I have been sick alot, really bad migrains and what nots.  Gender is the same so I think this just shows it does not mater what the gender is but how yorur body wants to handle it.

my first (boy) was simple and easy. No MS, no symptoms other than fatigue, nothing. I vomited once in transition and that was that. I was induced at 39.5 weeks for fluid retention and protein in my urine. I carried over 40 lbs of water weight (starting at 25 weeks) that I lost before leaving the hospital. Other than that it was lovely and enjoyable. Post partum was the most eventful part with PUPPPS (6 weeks of oral steroids), mastitis, retained placenta, H1N1... 

This baby (boy) I've been tired, had MS and heartburn in the first tri, headaches through the 2nd and now, at 29.6 weeks I've developed PUPPPS again (OMG NO!) and I'm starting to swell. My belly is all out front, I'm getting stretch marks (none with DS1) and I'm thinking it's going to be a long 10 weeks!

My first pregnancy was a boy, this pregnancy is a girl and it's been easier.

The only thing worse with this pregnancy was morning sickness - with DS I had it for 4 weeks and it was mild, this time I only had it for 3 but it was pretty bad. I was prepared for this to be a harder pregnancy, but it hasn't been.

With DS I was already on bedrest for pre-e at this point and had an induction scheduled. I felt like complete crap before I was even 30 weeks and was swollen as a balloon.

This time I have no BP issues, no swelling, can stay on my feet as long as I need to, and just feel all-around good.

Granted, I do have GD this time which I didn't last time, but I still have felt so much better than with my first that it doesn't really bother me.

Total opposite for me. My boy was EASY. This one is a girl and I have had morning sickness, I dilated early, horrible itching, breast engorgement, sciatic issues, sleepyness and the list goes on!

My first pregnancy (with a boy) was pretty easy.  I had mild m/s for a few weeks, but it was gone by the end of the 1st tri.  I was exhausted the whole time, but I think part of that was my job.  

This pregnancy (also a boy), I am still suffering from m/s, and it has been far more severe than it ever was with DS1.  I did get a nice energy burst in 2nd tri, though, which I seriously thought was a myth.

My first was a boy, and other than having a preterm labor scare it was easy as smiling. I had 2 weeks of morning sickness. My back seriously hurt for most of it, but eh, that is a given. Some heartburn. But pretty easy.

This one is also a boy...supposibly(tech said boy, OB dosen't think so... we will see in 3 weeks for sure) but I have been diagnosed with HG that puts me in the hospital for fluids every now and again. Makes gaining weight a pain, makes eating and drinking pretty sucky, since everything usually comes back. Back pain is actually worse, I am guessing because I started showing months before I did last time. Bloody noses, MORE heartburn. Low Blood Pressure. When I look at it, it kind of sucks, But LO is doing wonderful, just mommy isn't. But as long as little one stays healthy, I wouldn't change anything.

I think it depends on the person. I was super super sick when I was pregnant with my DS. I didn't gain any weight, threw up everything and was admitted repeatedly at the hospital for dehydration. With this one Im not sick at all kinda nauseaus and yeah not alot really going on. Other than dehydration again :(. Im expecting a girl btw.

same here.  Both pregnancies I feel/felt great for the most part and had minimal nausea.  The RLP is much worse this time around and this baby is way more active.

For me, being pregnant with my boy (#1) was MUCH easier.  The only thing I had was some heartburn toward the end.  It was cake.

This time I have had heartburn since like 6 weeks!  I had morning sickness for 3 months, I have sciatica pain... and just general discomfort!
