Magdalena Violet

What do you think of this combo?

Our compromise girl name has always been Margaret Victoria after our moms (Marguerite/Peggy + Victoria/Vicki) however my bipolar MIL's behavior is making DH and I rethink the wisdom of naming a baby after her so we're looking for alternatives to Margaret. (And I kind of feel like it should be all or nothing so I wouldn't use Victoria for the MN.)

I love Magdalena, I chose her as my patron saint and then DH could still get his favored Maggie NN.  He really loves the name Violet and it is the flower of his fraternity (not sure if that is the reason he likes it so much or not.) I have a flower name and my favorite color is purple. And then she would have the initials of each of her grandmothers.

Big brothers are Theodore and Francis.

I feel like this could be our new perfect on paper name if DH could get on board with Magdalena.

I love Magdalena and Magdalene.  I've always wanted that for Maggie instead but DH is being so stubborn about Margaret as well, not just Maggie.  

I like the rationale for Violet as well, not that it's needed since it's such a nice name.

And in the end she's got initials to honor family too.

Hope DH agrees with you!

Both names are super pretty, however the flow seems a bit off- if that sort of thing bothers you.

If not, and if you can get your DH on board, it's a beauty of a name.  Good Luck!

I'm swooning right now! I LOVE it! Magdalena is gorgeous! It's on my list but I don't think DH would ever get behind it. Magdalena Violet is lovely and I love all the connections it has to you and YH.
