IF on General Hospital

So I watch GH and they are gearing up to do an IF storyline. First one I remember and I've watched forever it seems. Anyway, one of the characters was told she would never be able to carry to term, so her and her husband are using one of the other characters as a gestational carrier. I can't wait to see how they screw up the whole IVF part of it. She'll prob just walk into the hospital to get her eggs retrieved, no shots, haha. Either that or the obligatory miracle pregnancy. Grr!

Imiss watching GH :( didn't even know they had an IF storyline.

 

I did start watching private practice and some of their IF stuff is so wrong. There was one episode where a couple was in for d-iui and cchaned thir mind at the last second. All of a sudden the drs came up with the idea of trying to get sperm surgically.  They did that, the retrieval, and transfer all on the same day.  The couple even got to watch as the egg was fertilized.

Spring 2011 - IVF #3 - nothing for transfer

one beautiful little girl born 8/2012

retrieval and transfer on the same day? Watching the egg get fertilized? Come on, that is ridiculous. I HATE when shows do stuff like that.

It's pretty dumb.  They have 1 dr who does all of the fertility stuff (who needs embryologists?).  Then they show people walking in and out of the room where she's doing ICSI.

And I just keep watching it :P

That is so crazy about the show. But I hear you on the still watching it part. I'm sure GH will screw it up royally, but I will still watch, like always, haha!

The Marlena storyline I remember but the Carly thing must have been when I wasn't watching.

I only remember the Carly that was on GH  (and then the actress played a mobster's daughter and was married to Sonny??)

Yes, the actress that was the original Carly came back as Claudia Zacharra. She was a total nut job. I know way too much about this show, haha :)

I just started watching GH, since they took off All My Children and I need my mindless tv lol! They will definitely screw it up somehow. Hopefully not too bad.

After 22 cycles and tube removal our IVF miracle has arrived! Detailed IF and IVF info in bio.

Does anyone know if I can watch GH online?  I only got to watch it on days off but now we aren't able to get CBS on our TV (we don't have cable or anything).   I think it's fun to watch every once in awhile to see what has and hasn't changed :)

Gidge, you can watch GH online.  Go to abc.com and select the watch shows tab on the top of the page. Scroll down to the daytime section and there it is.

Yes! And they came back to the show several years ago too! I started watching Days when I was in middle school. I watched One Life to Live for a while then too. Now I just randomly watch a few min of Days here and there. I used to DVR it on Fridays 'cause that's the only day anything actually happens!

I have been watching GH as well..I don't know much about IF but the other day the DR "explained what would happen" went through telling them about hormone treatments, retreival etc to get the two girls ready. It sounded pretty standard for what I know about the treatment..but then I've never had it so I can't be sure. Then they received their first hormone injections and the immediate next scene with either of them the 'surrogate' Maxi was a screaming B tch and the one who can't carry to term Lulu was a crying mess..so I can't wait to see how it all plays out in the end. I know pregnancy messes with your hormones and all but to me it just seemed extremely over the top with the whole 'its the stupid hormones' act in such a short time span.
