Anyone else with low pegesterone levels?

Dr. called me today and said my progesterone level was boarderline low. They are putting me on medication through first trimester. I forget the name but it starts with a P. She told me to take it before I go to bed because it will make me feel like I had a bit too much wine. So not looking forward to it, but glad I at least won't have to work tomorrow morning.

Anyone else have this issue? It's freaking me out because I read it can cause miscarriage or worse, pre term labor.

At 5 weeks they discovered my preogesterone had dropped to 7.5 and they put me on Prometrium. I take the generic of it at night....200 mg vaginally. So far so good. We saw the hb at 8 weeks and 3 days and the baby's growth is right in schedule. Best of luck to you!

I had brown spotting off and on when I wiped. My doctors office said it was "normal" but I insisted on bloodwork. They checked my hcg and progesterone twice 48 hours apart.

My levels in the beginning were borderline low. (12.4/11.5 a week later.) I was put on 200 mg of Prometrium (generic is just Progesterone) two times a day. I took it orally in the morning and at night. At my eight-week appointment, my progesterone was 28.9, so they had me go down to just once a day. I still take mine in the morning, because it made me so sick right before I went to bed, and I hated it. It's really not the worst thing in the world, and you'll get used to it, but I'm so thankful that my doctor took my concerns seriously and put me on it. (I'm weening myself now, as my MFM was surprised I was still taking it, but I want to wait until my OB appointment Wednesday to be done for good.) Good luck!

Holy heck, we're pregnant again! Please stay here with us little Otter.

We have a heartbeat! 138 beats per minute and measuring right on track. Ultrasound 11/7/12 showed heartbeat in the 160s. Negative MaterniT21 results ... Found out at Anatomy Scan we're Team Blue!

Lost our first (EDD 07/23/12) after finding out at 12 weeks there was no longer a heartbeat.

I am on the generic for Prometrium, twice a day. Morning and night, vaginally. The fertility doc looked at my ovulation charts and that's what he prescribed me. I'm not being monitored or anything. They told me to call back if I don't get pregnant. Anyways, I have my first OB appointment on Tuesday. With a nurse practitoner, which I'm not thrilled about, because I've never had good experiences with them. The fertility doc told me to keep taking them if I end up pregnant. Up until I think 10 weeks is what they said... I can't wait to go to my OB appointment to ask all my questions! Good luck to you..

I was put on Crinone (gel progesterone suppositories) at 6w and continued with them until 10w. I'm progressing normally, everything looks good at 12w and I'm measuring a few days ahead (or I was last Friday).

You need progesterone in order to maintain a viable pregnancy. Many women who have fertility treatments get put on one progesterone supplement or a combination of them either after Egg Transfer (for IVF) or immediately after an IUI is done (depending on what medication you took that cycle).

Married since June 2008. DH - 28, me - 29. TTC since Sept 2010. Seeing an RE since March 2012. HSG was normal. Minor MFI issue and I don't ovulate on my own/irregular cycles.
May 2012 - Clomid+TI = BFN, June 2012 - Clomid+Trigger+TI = BFN, August 2012 - Clomid+Trigger+IUI = canceled due to cyst, September 2012 - Clomid+Trigger+IUI=BFP! Due 6/12/13

I had low progesterone with my pregnancy with my daughter and had the same issues with this pregnancy.  For both pregnancies he had/has me on progesterone injections every night. The suppositories were not bringing my levels up good enough. I get an injection every night and we saw a healthy baby at 7 weeks with a good heartbeat. They found out through bloodwork when they tested HCG they also tested progesterone.  I am on the injections until I am 12 weeks along.  It worked out really well with my daughter and so far it is working very well with this pregnancy.

I took progesterone suppositories twice a day from just after ovulation (I have a history of low progesterone) to 10 weeks.  My doc said taking them vaginally cuts down on side effects, especially drowsiness.  I'm 13 weeks now and all was good at an u/s earlier this week.  Good luck!

My progesterone level was a 10 when I got my BFP. I stayed on suppositories until I hit the 12w mark.

I'm on 100mg of progesterone (generic) twice a day until 14 weeks. Are you taking it orally or vaginally, OP? Mine is the latter and while it does upset my stomach I haven't ever experienced the drunk feeling your OB referred to.
