We loved ours and only bought it because it happened to be on a really good sale and only paid $50!  We never ended up using the sensor pad so I can't comment on that.  The reason I would HIGHLY recommend it though is because you only hear anything on the parent end when baby makes a noise and it kicks in.  Lots of monitors just constantly make noise, and static, and you can't hear the baby all that well.  The angelcare is silent and then when it picks up a noise that baby is making it kick in.  It won't pick up fans or noise machines!  I like this because the parent unit can sit beside my bed and doesn't annoy me all night long with static.  I also really like that the parent end displays the temperature in the nursery so we can keep an eye on that.

I have it and LOVE it.  We've used it consistently for a year now and it's only now starting to give us trouble when LO scoots to the corner of the crib.  Idk if I would have slept at all without this monitor.

We have the video one and love it.

The only thing I don't like about it is that there isn't a clock on it. I don't know if thats standard or not on video monitors but I have found myself wishing there was one on there many times when DD has woken up in the morning and I have to figure out whether to go get her or hope she goes back to sleep. The bright light of my phone tends to wake me up really easily so I hate to check the time.

Have it. Love it. Don't get the video, though...Unless you're gonna sit there and watch him/her sleep. Way more $$$...

I had it with my first solely for the sensor pad because we lived in a small house and could hear her anyway.  I definitely plan to get it with this baby too, but I'm not paying for the video type.

We have it and have liked it, but I'm not sure I would pay for one again. When my DD was a newborn, we could not get the sensors to work properly. Despite lots of tweaks to the sensitivity controls, it was always alarming. Once she was a few months old, it worked great. We have the model with two sensor pads, so we rarely have a problem with false alarms even when she moves to the edge of the crib. Now that she is 14 months, I am hoping to get a video monitor soon just so I can see if she is really awake and I need to go in there or if she is simply crying in her sleep.

I love ours.  The video quality is really good and I like that it also tells you teh temperrature in his room and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sensor pads.  DS has been a tummy sleeper since he learned to rollover and the pads totally give me peace of mind.  I do wish the battery would last longer (1.5 hours) before I have to put it back on the charger which we keep in our room.

We have one, we love it and still use it for every nap and at night.  It has given us a huge piece of mind, and we have had the alarm go off in the middle of the night (it's loud on both ends, to wake you up and to try to wake up the baby) and my DD wasn't responding to the noise and her breathing was super shallow.  It was scary!  I would buy this again, in a heartbeat, and plan on getting another one for LO 2.

I'm a FTM and am getting one based on a friends experience. She had one and thought at first it was broken because it kept going off constantly... Turns out her son had apnea and would stop breathing. He got put on a machine and ended up being fine... But if it hasn't have been caught by her getting him checked by the dr based in the monitor going off he could have been in serious danger. It's worth it to me.

My husband found this at a consignment sale for $15!!! I was like do you realize you just picked up a $75-$100 monitor?! So, we bought it of course. The lady we actually bought our house from stopped by and I was showing her all the baby stuff and she had used the same monitor. She said it will drive you crazy at first going off and stuff while you figure it all out but she wouldn't have kids without one.
