Shower for May baby

I'm hosting a shower for my friend and she is due May 6.
I had a January shower for my March baby but I think that might have been early. Another friend had a shower planned for 35 weeks and she ended up delivering 2 days later at exactly 36 weeks which wasn't ideal but it worked out... it just seemed a little late.
Is there a general guideline about when to have a shower? TIA

I think sometime in March would be good.  As you've seen - having a baby isn't an exact science.  She's due May 6th.  The latest I'd have the shower is early April.  Just because you don't know what will happen.

I am due in mid May and my friend is thinking about to host my shower sometimes in March.

I am due Jan. 10th. I had my first shower Nov. 10th. I am having my second shower tomorrow. And I am having a small work shower Dec. 17. I think the Nov.10th and shower tomorrow are perfect timing. I am now concerned with going into labor before my last shower on the 17th. However that day was picked bc it is the last week before Christmas Break (we work in education) and was better for the hosts. I think somewhere between 28-35 weeks is a good time to have a shower.
