Vent - Why seem like it's so easy.....

.....for everyone else to get pregnant?

This week at work I saw two 14 year olds and one 12 year old that were pregnant.  Then another friends tells me she's pregnant and they weren't even trying.  I'm really happy for her, she's going to be a great mom.  It's just frustrating!

ugh....all the while I sit here evaluating my EWCM, temping and counting cycle days with no luck!

...vent over. Thanks for listening!

It's really unhealthy to be pregnant that young.  I find that terribly sad.  If those 'girls' decide to raise their children, they'll never really get to have a childhood of their own.

How long have you been trying, OP?

I agree...I wasn't happy for them.  It was really sad and scary.

We've been trying for about 5 mos.  Not too long in the grand scheme of things; I understand there are some that have been trying for years. I'm just impatient!

This. I have never noticed so many pregnant women in my life as I have in the last couple of months.

And then of course, given my age, I'm in that window where a couple years ago everyone was getting married and now everyone is having kids. So there's that, too.

I don't think you should be jealous of a 12yo and a 14yo. They have no idea what is going to happen to their lives.

That being said, I'm sorry you aren't feeling positive about the TTC experience. How long have you been trying OP?

I really don't understand why 12 and 14 year old kids are having sex. That honestly just terrifies me!

Hang in there OP! I know what you mean about feeling impatient.

Definitely not jealous of a 12 year old TYVM.  Frustrated that it can be so easy for someone who isn't ready and doesn't know anything about being a parent ... or really anything about anything at that age.

I understand that you are frustrated but, they have nothing to do with you and your fertility. Anyone else being pregnant doesn't take away the ability for you to get pregnant. Take a deep breath, relax and try not to think about other people too much. Good Luck!!

Who cares? I wouldn't be jealous or frustrated if I saw teens walking around pregnant, it makes me sad. So what if your friend wasn't "trying" in the same way you are?

It can take a healthy couple up to a year to get a pregnant.

Figure out a way to deal with your frustration because it seems misplaced.

OP- I get where you are coming from and as I'm starting cycle 5 or cycle 6 I understand how easy it is to get impatient early on. When I hear stories about unplanned or 1st month trying pregnancies I just think about how much better prepared DH and I will be when we have a child. We've been preparing for this for years and trying for a few months. My friends that got pregnant immediately or unexpectedly have all been completely overwhelmed and some of them have become big pills. My friendsthat got pregnant after few to many months have been much more relaxed about becoming parents/ dealing with pregnancy.

I'm sorry but I highly doubt it's all based on how long someone has been TTC.  I've known people who got PG right away and were perfectly calm and people who tried for a long time who are complete basket cases.  It depends on the couple, not the amount of time.

I agree with you- it really depends in the couple and it's not all based on how long they have been ttc. However, I think that people who get pregnant unexpectedly or immediately are much more likely to think "What have I gotten myself into?" because they haven't been planning on it or had the disappointment of a negative test. In my recent experience I have had friends who have been very overwhelmed with not trying/ not avoiding pregnancies.I'm sure as more of my friends have children I will see people who have been trying for a long time who are just as overwhelmed but that hasn't been the case thus far.

I was wondering how she knew the ages, too. That makes sense.

I didn't read this as jealousy of these children having children. More as frustration at how easy it is for people who aren't TTC to get pregnant, especially young kids, when others try for so long without success.

If I was a nurse and spent my days around kids this young who were pregnant, I would want to tear my hair out, too. For many reasons.

Seriously?  You only started TTC 2 months ago... Aren't we being just a tad dramatic at this point in the game?
