blush64: skio: I think they're lame. If I'm healthy enough to be going shopping, I'm healthy enough to walk my ass through a parking lot. I think new moms and moms with small children need special parking way more.
I am not far along yet but there are times I have a lot of pain and trouble walking any distance and It's always difficult standing for more than 10 minutes. Sometimes I need to shop because if I don't it isn't going to do itself. Yes I will use those spots because sometimes a pregnant woman might need them as much as a woman with a small baby.
Just saying that sometimes we shop not because we want to but because we have to.
Agreed. There are definitely times in late pregnancy when I had to go to the grocery store and was overcome with lightning vagina or something and would've happily taken a close spot if it was offered. But, for the most part, I think they're unnecessary and like someone else said, I'll generally leave them open for someone who may need it more. I don't fault anyone for using them, that's what they're there for.
But I still think special parking for new moms and moms with kids is way more necessary and I wish more places had it.
