Vera

What do you think?  I'm not pregnant or planning on it anytime soon, and its not a family name, so blunt honesty is very welcome.  I just have a name crush that I would like opinions on.

 Is it too (insert decade here)?  Any names you can think of that would have Vera as a nickname?  Does it work as a sibset with Ian?  What about with our last name, that sounds like Pike?

I kinda like it.  No nn that come to mind.  It is a little off paired with Ian, but I'm not big on making sure sibsets "match".  If you like it, go for it.

I LOVE this name. It's my #2 girl name.

My DS is Kian (sounds just like Ian, but with a K sound in front) and if we ever have a second girl, that will be her name. So I'm going to say, yes, great sibset. :)

Not a fan at all. I think of old lady as well.  Also with your last name being short, I would go with a longer name or a long mn. I don't think you could (or should) do a nn with Vera.

I like it, and it will be the nn we use if we end up using the name Veronica. As far as what comes to mind with the name, Vera Wang and Vera Bradley.

I really like Vera. This is in the "old lady" name category (which I am usually not a fan of), but this is one of the few I appreciate!

I love Vera, and I like it best as a stand alone name. Ian and Vera is an okay sibset—nothing wrong with it but not particularly striking to me either.

I think of my mother's batshit crazy friend. I could never use it myself because of this, but it does sound very pretty. I'd use it if I weren't myself, if that makes sense.
