Annabelle vs. Emily (never mind!--Emily wins)

Thoughts?

I think we would still go with Emily b/c of family meaning but have suddenly been considering Annabelle a bit. Great nickname potentials. Is it just too sweet and maybe a little too cutesy? Or do you love it? Thoughts?

MN would be Jane either way.

Ignore this! IN the light of day, out of my insane nightly anxious nesting mode, I realize we would never use Annabelle. On top of being maybe too juvenile, it has the exact same rhythm as our last name. Whoops.

It's too cutesy for me. I cannot imagine it on a resume twenty some years from now. I prefer emily.

I am not a fan of Annabel. That trend really does nothing for me.

I agree with PP. Emily is great!

Annabelle is one of thoses names I LOVE but I just dont feel like it ages well enough.

Emily is a little too popular for me, so I'd go with Annabelle (although that seems to be rising in popularity as well). Like you said, Annabelle has great nn options that age well.

If you're going for Annabelle/Annabel, I think the latter spelling ages much better and is much less frilly.

I still prefer Emily, though. 

Have you considered Annabeth or another compound name?

I really don't like Annabelle don't understand the recent spike in popularity. I have 2 Annabelles in my family....a 5yr old cousin a 45 year old sister in law. I think Annabelle is awkward when I say it aloud just kind of country or hillbilly sounding. Emily is a nice classic name!
