Naping/ sttn question

My LO is almost 3 months. Right now he will sleep for three hours in the morning usually sometime starting at 7-8 am and at times he will struggle to take an afternoon nap. Sometimes between 1-3, but tonight he would nap until 6pm at night! When he does eventually go down for a nap should I wake him up if he takes a later nap or let him wake himself up? At times when we let him sleep and he wakes up naturally he will fuss since he's hungry, but usually we do get about 10-15 mins of happiness before he wants to eat, but when I do wake him up he's not happy at all. He also lately only wants to nap on us, so is there a way to transition him to nap in either his crib or swing?

Also, when should he start sleeping through the night? We usually are able to get him to go down around 10:30 and he'll sleep usually until about 2-2:30. Last night he went to bed later and cried in his sleep on and off for 2 hours. Is this normal? Is there a better way to get him to sleep through the night? I would appreciate any advice you have. TIA!

How often is he eating?  How much does he eat in a day?  Our son is almost 3 months old and he has been STTN for probably 3-4 weeks now.  He gets up anywhere from 7-8 and then we feed him every 3 hours.  He takes naps in between each feeding.  His last bottle is between 7:30-8:30 and he is usually sleeping by 9PM.  He gets 5 6-ounce bottles (30 ounces) a day.  I have heard that if they don't get enough food during the day then they wake up at night.

This feeding schedule works for us and it is SOOO nice to have him STTN.  He has always been a good sleeper.  After he got back to his birth weight, he only woke up once during the night.  So IDK if his situation will help, but I hope it does.  Good Luck!

Babies STTN when they are ready. For some, that's at a few months old, For others, a few years. DS started at 6 months, just randomly one night. He had been increasing his milk intake during the day, and self-weaned the night feedings. He usually sleeps from 5:30 pm-6 am, with some variance.

This!!!  The past week+ my twins have been going down at 9:30pm, sleep till around 3:30am, then back down till around 7:30-8:30am. I have them on a strict schedule in the day. They eat every 3 hours. I also heard when they eat enough during the day they sleep better at night, so this is why I have stuck to a strict schedule.

This!  My little guy started sleeping through the night (9 PM - 5 AM) at 2 months, but we were very lucky.  There are mom's on my birth month board (my guy is 9 months now) whose little ones still don't sleep through the night.  They will do it when they are ready.  I agree with PP though, get on a regular sleep/feeding schedule if you can, sometimes this can help :)
