Dog sense something?

This might sound weird but I have a German Shepherd and today for some reason everytime I get up she comes and sniffs me. She has never done this before. I've even changed clothes to see if it makes her stop and it doesn't. I have had BH constantly for the past few days. Could she be sensing something? I know this is a weird question but I'm curious if anyone else pets have acted weird.

I've heard of dogs acting funny before someone goes into labor before. Maybe she's just sensing a change in you and something will be happening soon?

Before I knew I was pregnant my room mates dog started sleeping outside my room door and whining a lot at my door until I would let her in then she would sniff me make sure I was ok then go and lay by my door again. So I definitely think dogs might have special senses to things. When I went back to visit after moving out she did the same thing she scratched and cried until we finally let her in the house to see me. This dog never had any interest in me before I was pregnant either!

My boy lab would follow me around the house all the time. My girl lab just steered clear of me. The night I went into labor with DD the dogs would not leave my side but when the real deal started happening they quickly got out of the way lol.  Animals know :)

I've heard dogs can sense hormonal changes. I have a GSD and so far she hasn't acted any different. My cousin has photos of her when she first went into labor - she has 2 medium sized dogs & she was on her side sort of curled up and one dog curled up around her belly and the other was behind her.

My dachshund was normal until about 3 or 4 days ago...now when I get up in the morning she rushes outside, back inside to eat then has to find me in the house. All at record speed for a 12 year old dog. And throughout the day she has to find me and see what I'm doing.

Usually she'd sleep in, go out whenever, eat whenever and just be lazy. Occasionally she'd wander into the living room to get on my lap, but rarely. I swear she is more like a cat than a dog.

But once my hubby is home she acts totally normal...strange little dog

I also have a GSD... She has been super sniffy/lovey and close the past few days. She's a little too big to be a lap dog, but she's been trying to climb into my lap and I woke up to her sleeping ON me this morning....

Just for fun, here is a pic of us yesterday :)

I have a maltese and a frenchie. I think the frenchie is clueless but the maltese knows. I have days where she wants nothing to do with me and days where she is my shadow. Sometimes I find her just staring at me from across the room for hours.

My SOs fam has a Chiweenie. He's a sweet dog anyway. He's very playful and friendly. But ever since I've been pregnant, he is SUPER friendly, careful & attentive to me. Whenever I come over, he neglects everyone else. He comes to lay/sit beside me. He likes to lay against my tummy. He began acting like this about a week before I found out I was preggers. He just started showing me extra attention. Everyone noticed it. He'd follow me everywhere, watched my every move and lived in my lap. So once I found out I was preggers, it all made sense. He definitely knows! He wont let my SO lay/sit near me. He always squeezes between us and stares at him (like he's a guard dog or something). It's the cutest freaking thing!

I believe they can sense those changes too. For one thing my pug has been my shadow for the last 30 wks, sleeping with me every night(she was my hubby's best friend before).  And also, at work I've seen people with their  service dogs that are because they are "brittle diabetics", apparently the dog can sense when their blood sugar is getting too low, plus I've also heard of the dogs that can sense when their master is going to have a seizure before it happens(the service dogs, not just any dog).

i have a 3yr old male saint bernard. he has always been a momma's boy, and somewhat protective of me...which can be common for the breed. but this has definitely kicked into high gear since becoming pregnant. in the first trimester, he would whine or pace when i would leave the room. that died down as the pregnancy went on. but in the third trimester, he does not like any strangers to be around me. he gets in defense-mode and acts like a tough guy to protect his mom. makes me wonder if he will sense or react in a certain way when i got into labor. i'm 39w 2d right now.
