12 weeks old and won't lift up his head

I place my DS on his belly he just screams and won't move his head. I place him on a boppy, my chest, my husbands chest, and tried my shins he just lets his head hang and does nothing but scream. When should I start to worry. Tia

I would talk to your pediatrician about it.  Anything that comes up with my LO that I'm not sure about, I ask the doc.  They should have some answers for you.  Good luck!

My LO is 9 weeks and is just now starting to lift her head.  We were concerned for a while.  LO is seeing an occupational therapist because she has a diagnosis that may in the future lead to developmental delays and the therapist said that we didn't need to be concerned unless she still wasn't lifting her head while on her tummy at 6 mos.

My LO was a screamer during tummy time until randomly one day last week, he stopped fussing and started trying. So, things could change quickly. We found that holding up a mirror or my iphone camera so he could see himself was motivating enough for him to start lifting his head.

Start wearing LO in a carrier (wrap, ring sling, Mei tai, ergo, becco, k'tan, etc not Bjorn or infantino) as it counts for tummy time and will help your LO build up his/her neck muscles
