DD1 did this at about 15 months. She would go to sleep fine, and then wake up maybe 30 minutes later screaming from what I would deem night terrors. DH or I would go in and calm her, but she would refuse to go to sleep again. I started driving her around on the highway to get her drowsy again, and then transfer her back to her crib, and she would sleep fine. But I got tired of it, and its and expensive and dangerous (driving on the highway at night for no real reason) way to get her back to sleep. And DH and I were arguing over her crying, because he would let her cry and I would get upset with him. One night, while he was out of town, I left her in her crib crying, locked myself in my bathroom, and turned to volume down on the monitor. I could still see her, but couldn't hear her. After about 30 minutes, she sat down, then laid down, and then feel asleep. She never tried it again. Now she sleeps 12 hours at night (no nap during the day, though). Try it out. As long as he is safe, he can cry. Maybe feed him earlier so he can't vomit as much? Oh, and DD1 got a warm bottle of milk right before bed. That ALWAYS calms her down. Good luck!
