Dr visit..

Well i have been sick since Friday.. coughing, sneezing, sore throat, watery eyes, nauseated, diarrhea, body aches and all that jazz!! I didn't do anything this weekend.. decided if i didn't feel better by today i would go to the dr.. I called my OB and they told me to go to my regular dr.. i went and they told me that i have a virus that is highly contagious.. and they have put me out of work till i am better.. didn't give me anything, of course, just said that i would have to ride it out!! he said his lasted for a week.. so count down to Friday with this is going to suck!!

Now my question.. I have been taking Claritin-D 24 hour to help with the stuffy nose so i can get sleep.. it was on my list of safe meds.. and he told me that i should stop taking it!! should i be worried that the past 3 nights i have taken it will effect the baby??

I think you're probably fine.  My doc nixes some of the meds that are considered "safe", especially if s/he thinks it is really not going to make a difference.  Although it may help your symptoms, your doc may think that it's not worth any side effects or risks, even if it is "safe".

Nope. Mostly because there is nothing you can do about it now, ya know? Did he say why? Sudafed is on my approved list. Maybe try that if you're super stuffy? Or just go the steamy bathroom route. But don't worry about something you took yesterday, and can't change.

I agree with Nanda's advice on Sudafed - it has been a lifesaver for me (bad sinuses).  Try a neti pot too!

yeah i didn't really think about it i guess cuz it was on my "safe" list.. but when he said you shouldn't even take that i got worried!! and the steamy bathroom thing just makes me want to throw up.. i cant take the heat and it doesn't help the stuffiness.. but the meds did help.. I have always been like that though.. if i have a stuffy nose i can't deal with heat it makes me feel like i cant get a breath.. yeah i am weird.. lol!! so i am stuck at home watching tv.. or maybe i will read...

i'm sure if there was anything to worry about the dr would have done some test maybe???  i wouldnt stress   i hope you feel better soon!!!

hope you feel better soon. you should be fine since you only took it for 3 days. for my stuff nose (bad allergies) i use a saline spray.

Ughh Sounds very similar to what i have... I got the baby checked out the other day bc I was worried and the doctor asked me what I was doing for myself n i said tylenol , benadryl , and cough drops .. she didnt tell me to go get checked out by a reg doctor or anything just said that I am doing all I can do....which really doesnt help anything . THankfully my fever is either gone or drastically down. I hope you feel better soon! I've been sick since Friday too so I am ready for this to be over!!!
