Yay for them, but I feel bad that they have to announce it so early because of hg and her being in the spotlight.  Hope everything turns out well for them!

God, I feel so bad for her knowing she is that sick! Now that I know what mild-moderate morning sickness feels like, and how much it sucks, my heart goes out to any woman who has it worse...

Yes and ABC News also reported it, saying the pregnancy is "in its very early stages." Poor woman, being forced to announce so early.

December 2011: Missed m/c due to trisomy 13 (conceived naturally)... January 2012: DH and I found out we are both cystic fibrosis carriers... She had the most watched ovaries in the world. I'm glad for them. I read a few articles, but nothing about a due date. Wonder when it is.

I think it's more like what you said, that she is being monitored to make sure that the 3rd in line would make it alright.

I feel sorry for her that she has to share it so early with the whole world.

I am excited to see her maternity outfits, too.

I'll try not to be snarky here...but if she truly has Hyperemesis...she is VERY sick.  I'm currently dealing with my 2nd HG pregnancy.  It's horrendous.  It's NOT "just morning sickness".  I've been hospitalized & I was on bedrest for almost 10 weeks.  Plus I had a PICC line placed in my arm at 7 weeks & I had to have home healthcare come everyother day.  I did IV fluids & medication at home for 6-8 hours EVERY day for 12 weeks....plus I lost over 10 lbs.  HG means SEVERE vomiting.  I was throwing up 15-20 times a day...it made my esophagus start bleed & cause MANY MANY more problems.  

Thankfully...most cases of HG start to clear up by 20 weeks.  I no longer have the PICC but I still am considered "high risk" & see the doctor weekly.  Plus I'm still on 3 different medications to control the nausea/vomiting.

I don't think anyone was making light of the seriousness of HG. I know I wasn't. I was simply agreeing that regardless of how sick Kate is, she is going to get the best of care. There really is no disputing that.

I agree that I feel horrible they were forced to announce early presumably because someone got wind that she was in the hospital. If she does have HG, my thoughts go to her. I have no idea what HG is like, but after hearing so many people here talk about it, it sounds like something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Kudos to all of you who have battled HG as I can't imagine trying to function at all with it let alone keep my job in the process!

The article on CNN said that she is not yet 12 weeks so they are not announcing the due date.  So I'm willing to bet she's due in late June or July.

I am really happy for them and my heart goes out to her for being so sick! 

I remember watching their wedding and nursing my 2 week old little boy in the wee hours of the morning and now she is pregnant at the same time I am with my second! It's kind of cool :)

I'm so excited that they are expecting, although I feel bad that they were forced to announce early due to HG. I really hope she gets better soon and has a healthy pregnancy. I had joked with DH when we started TTC that I wanted to be pregnant at the same time as Kate. After Royal Wedding mania I knew a royal baby would take over news stories and headlines. It will make all the royal pregnancy coverage way more interesting!

Yes, that certainly was announced and confirmed at the same time her pregnancy was confirmed. And yes, HG is extremely miserable and not your run-of-the-mill nausea & vomiting.

True. But I have a feeling we won't be seeing much if her in public now. I'm sure she will be overscrutinized for not gaining enough weight etc, since she is on the thin side.

 I meant that no matter how sick or not sick was was / is they would take extreme caution, and maybe to the point of ridiculous ( not with HG though).  I agree with other posts that we won't be seeing much of her in the next 6 - 7 months.  While I wish no morning sickness on any pregnant mom, I also wish they could all enjoy normal activities and not feel the need to justify their weight gain, their appearance, or  their approach to a healthy pregnancy.

My husband and I got engaged, then William and Kate did a month or so later...we got married April 2011 and then they did too...now we are having a baby and so are they!

I mean, I'm not saying I'm a trendsetter, but... :)

And I'm so excited to see her maternity clothes. I'm obsessed with her coats, I can't wait to see what she wears!
