Ikea cribs?

Has anyone ever purchased one/know anyone who has?  We don't actually own any furniture from them, but I was just browsing and love the simple designs and low cost.  I would love to hear any first-hand feedback.  This is the one I like best.

I've been looking at them too so I'm curious if anyone has any reviews on them as well.

I know some people who have used them.  From what I hear, they hold up well.

I have heard good things about them too, but have never seen one in person. I'm probably going to get one too. You can't beat that price!

I haven't owned one of their cribs, but I have owned their furniture before. The quality depends entirely on which piece you get. Their solid wood pieces (like this crib) are great, their pressboard pieces not so much.

DH and I have decided on the Gulliver as well. Our idea for a crib was 1) solid hardwood, 2) lacquer finish, 3) not made in China. We found plenty, but in the $600-$2000 range. With this one, we'll be able to splurge on a chemical-free mattress made from tung oil/beeswax rubbed steel springs, wool, and cotton. (The wool is the fire-retardant, so no fire-retardants are sprayed on.)

I would love to know as well. You can't beat the prices, and from what I have been told with people who have kids already. They aren't exactly the easiest on furniture when they get older.

I have heard they are great! I ended up getting a Graco crib with my son because I liked the syle better but the Ikea crib was definitely on our list!

We used an IKEA crib for DD, it's in great shape 26 months later, we're getting her a new bed and reusing the crib for baby #2.

We have a Gulliver at my in-laws house and it's really sturdy. You just have to put it together well and it will hold up to shaking/jumping. What I like best about it is that it's lower to the ground than most cribs, so it's easier on my back. It's also very inexpensive and converts easily to a toddler bed.

I want to mention that this would be the choice of crib I would make for my own home, not just for visiting my in-laws. However we actually don't use a crib at home. We did have a mini-crib my father bought us (an Alma Bloom) and transitioned at 4 months to a Japanese futon resting on the floor. We also made use of a SnuggleNest, a large swing, and the bucket carseat. ( Here is a link to my flickr Nursery set if anyone's curious about the futon/mini crib/snugglenest.)

Together for 8 years, married for 2 :) Lilu

We are going with the Gulliver also this time around, since we aren't finding out this time if it's a boy or a girl I don't want to invest as much in a convertible. Plus it is ranked very high on Baby Bargains list of cribs (as previous posters have mentioned.)

We're doing the gulliver crib and changing table as well. Mom friends with an ikea crib love them. Also planning on buying a better mattress with the savings.

Yes, we have the Leksvik crib and a Serta mattress, it fits perfect.  Ignore stuff out there that says it won't fit, it's literally a 0.2 inch difference.

An Ikea crib is my number one choice. And since my second choice is $2k, I'm pretty sure we're going with Ikea. I haven't had a crib from them before, but I do have a solid wood furniture set from them that I've had for almost 15 years and still love.
