Long, whiney post- migraine, cervix/rectum pain, numbness in hand

This might just qualify as a pointless, 'poor me' post...

I saw my doc last week (Wednesday), baby was measuring a little over a week ahead (ultrasound said 7lbs, 2oz/38 weeks and 2 days, yet I know that can be terribly inaccurate) I was 1cm dilated. Doc said she expects me to go early, within a couple of weeks. I'm trying to take that with a grain of salt, since I know women can walk around dilated for weeks.

But.... All weekend, I've had this bizarre stabbing pain in my cervix, menstrual-like cramping in my abdomen and back as well as a shooting pain in my rectum when walking. I'm horribly uncomfortable and today I have a migraine.  I'm miserable. I know if I call, they'll tell me to come in, because that's just how my office rolls. I appreciate that they don't mess around, but I don't want to go in and be told "Yep, that's normal" and sent home with a bill. Also, today, my left hand has been numb ALL morning. I have a brace to wear at night, so I've been using that, but it's not helping. my next appointment is Thursday afternoon.

I checked my bp with my home pressure machine and it's a teeny tiny bit higher than usual, but I'm still hesitant to call. Am I just being stubborn? Don't get me wrong, I want to be on the cautious side and I want this baby OUT, but I don't want to over react, either.  I've already been to l&d twice for observation in the past month and a half.... once for headache/swelling/blurry-ness (everything was normal) and then again because I thought I had a slow leak and hadn't felt the baby move all day (again, normal).

Yep, pretty sure this post is pointless. I guess I'll call the doc and check in, just to be sure.

**Sigh**

37 weeks is considered full term...so you technically wouldn't be early

Im pretty sure that tingling/numbness in the left arm/hand is a bad thing...since its symptom of a heart attack...

pregnant women are prone to blood clots...which can cause headaches, or tingling/numbness wherever...

Soooo...ya, call the doctor!

37 weeks is no longer full term...it's 39 weeks. And I wouldn't hesitate to call just to put your mind at ease. I have the symptoms you mentioned and my ob says it's normal...lightning crotch in the cervix and rectum are unpleasant but normal. Cramping...normal too..if they are timeable and consistent then I would think they were contractions. I'm guessing you have carpal tunnel syndrome since you're wearing a brace..that is normal for numbness too. Bp can flux during the day but if you are worried or if it stays elevated I would call. Hth.

We can't wait to meet baby Mason!

Since you have a history of headache and swelling, I'd call to be on the safe side. Pre-E is nothing to mess with.

Thanks ladies! I called, went in and waited foreverrr to be seen. Everything is normal and 'par for the course'.  I had a little bit of protein in my urine, but nothing significant.

16 more days til my EDD... I can't wait!
