Babymoon - timing and location suggestions?

I apologize if this has already been discussed a million times - I tried searching and got no results, but i'm new to this, so...

DH and I are considering a babymoon. I was thinking of going in early Feb, which would put me around 23-25 weeks. I've heard that 2nd tri is the best time to go away on a trip, but since I'm a FTM, wondering if any STMs have any advice on when was best/most comfortable time for them to go away? Obv everyone is different but I'm not sure at what point things start getting more uncomfortable!

If anyone else is planning a trip before baby, where are you headed? We're thinking the Caribbean would be good because it's warm, we can just relax on the beach, and it's fairly close to home/shorter flight. Any suggestions on good places to go?

TIA!

I can't speak to the most appropriate timing for a babymoon, but my husband and I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico (on the Carribbean side) in March as all of the Carribbean (island) locations were super expensive for what you got. We stayed at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba and it was fabulous!

We have a trip planned to Puerto Vallarta in January - I should be about 24 weeks then.  I have a friend who went at 26 weeks to the Caribbean and she said she was fine traveling.

We're headed to the Dominican Republic for 10 days  this Friday.  Nonstop flight and the resort is only 20 mins from the airport.  All of this factored into our choice. Dr. is fine with it and told me not to worry.

We just booked a short babymoon in Pismo Beach which involves a 2 hour coastal drive.  I will be 26 weeks going on 27.  My doctor says that's fine, just be sure to stop/get up and move around every hour or so whether driving or flying to avoid blood clots and back pain.  I am 24 weeks now and don't feel terribly uncomfortable yet, but I hear that once you get to the 3rd trimester, travel is less desirable and my doctor actually cuts it off around 34 weeks.  Good luck!  I think a beachy, relaxing place sounds like the way to go :)

We're a hair over 18 weeks and headed to Riviera Maya at 6 AM tuesday! So excited, even if I can't drink, zip line or swim with the dolphins! there will still be water and sunshine!

We will be going on a local babymoon weekend that is less than 2 hours drive away when I'm about 23 weeks.  That said, a friend is getting married when I will be 28 weeks and we will have to fly there.  My OB said it shouldn't be a problem at all.  They just want me to schedule that month's appt. a few days before the flight so they can give me some tips.

We went to Atlantis in the Bahamas in March when I was 20 weeks pregnant with DS. The weather was great and the resort is a lot of fun!

I think that is perfect timing.  I was in the 6th month for our babymoon with DS1 and will be again for our babymoon with DS2 later this month.  I lived in Asia for a year and in Central America for 4 months, but for some reason I'm paranoid about international travel while pregnant, so we're sticking to the states- especially this time b/c we're leaving DS1 behind with grandparents for the 1 st time. Whatever you choose, i hope you have fun!!

We went to St Martin between 23-24 weeks, it was perfect! I felt great, travel was fine at that time. I am 28 weeks and still feel fine actually. Tomorrow I am flying to Chicago for a work conference and we are flying to Chicago Again at 30 weeks for Christmas. That will only be a two hour flight though, st Martin was 4 and I felt comfortable then.

We went to the NOW Jade in the Mayan Riviera when I was 18 weeks. I didn't find it a problem at all. My biggest issue was food aversions, and I couldn't find something that I really liked to eat at their main buffet, but everyone else seemed to be making out fine. We had a very relaxing time. I read 5 books while we were there.

We're going in late January when I'm almost 6 months. We'll be in St. Thomas at the Ritz. Very excited for sun and/or shade, a book and drink (non-alcoholic, boo!) in hand.
