Period-like cramps?

I've been having uncomfortable cramping for the last 30 min. or so.  They feel like period cramps, not like the normal slight cramping that sometimes comes with pregnancy.  Is this normal?  I'm about to take a Tylenol.  If they don't go away in a few hours I will call my OB's office.  TIA.

yes, it's fine. everything in pregnancy is normal unless you're excessively bleeding and losing a limb

Try drinking a lot of water and seeing if that helps.

My OB's office wants me to call when I have painful cramping (= something I would take a Tylenol for) or if the cramping is regular / timeable.

I hope you feel better soon!

Rest if you can. If it goes away you should be fine, just watch for bleeding. If it continues call your OB. In 2nd tri, painful cramping can be a problem if it's regular.

I haven't had these cramps before in this pregnancy, or my previous one that I can remember.  I had a m/c in July, so I guess I am just a little paranoid.   I am 21 weeks.  I do tend to forget to drink enough water, so that could be it.

I had these cramps yesterday, too. I do drink loads of water so I doubt that's it. I was told that it could possibly be braxton hicks. I wouldn't worry unless you're bleeding or your water breaks. I had to stop what I was doing and just sit with my feet up on the couch and relax. It made the pain go away. :) Good luck!

I've had BH and these feel a little different.  I will put my feet up though!

Ditto this.  It's probably nothing, but if it comes and goes definitely call your doc.  I know several twin moms that have gone into PTL before viablity and have lost both babies.  A girl I'm FB friends with has a sister that's 22w pg, at 21w she was having regular contractions, tried to get a cerclage, didn't have enough cervix for the cerclage and her water broke later that day.  Luckily it was just a trickle and is still pg, her water has refilled, but they're taking it day by day.  Not trying to freak you out, but you definitely need to let your doc know if something is different than what you normally experience.

I had this last week and went into the ER. They couldnt find anything wrong. And the cramps really havnt gone away. Im not much help other then everything seems fine. They said its round ligament pain even though to me it is way more painful then that. Call if your unsure but try resting and drinking I guess

Thanks ladies.  I called my OB office and she said drink lots of water and take Tylenol for the time being.  I'm starting to feel a little better, but not 100% yet.  I just hope it's normal pains.  Baby is still kickin' :)

All of this. When I start experiencing any kind of cramp or RLP, I try to drink lots of water and sit for a bit. It always seems to help.

Call if it lasts or you are still concerned, it's what they are there for! Hope you get to feeling better.

This is horrible advice.  Please disregard it.  As far as your cramping, OP, I tend to cramp a lot with my pregnancies, but it is not normal for everyone.  I would rest up and drink fluids and take the Tylenol.  Consider speaking with your physician if these interventions do not result in some improvement.  Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I still have cramps from time to time, and as long as there is no blood you shouldn't worry at all . It's just all the stretching from things changing in your belly.

Agreed!  there are many things that warrent a call to the doctor other than "excessive bleeding and losing a limb".

Coming from someone who creates multiple posts a week asking "is this normal <insert random topic/symptom>?" you should know better than to post snarky responses to people looking for help.
