Daddy Survival kit/Gift Basket...?

Hello Ladies!

I am thinking about giving my DH a gift when the baby is born. Like a Daddy Survival Kit/ Gift basket. I was wondering if anyone on here has done it or has ideas? Big Smile

I ordered a custom lighter that says "Daddy" and I'm making pink bands that say "It's a girl" for cigars. I want to get a little book of baby girl hair-dos, and a small pink tool set for when she can help him with his handy work around the house.

I bought "Be prepared: a practical handbook for new dads" for my husband.  I told him I was counting on him to read up on how to take care of this LO since neither of us know what we are doing.  I'm still busy reading about the pregnancy part.

My husband got the Baby Operator's Manual from a friend of ours. It reads like a stereo instructions/ a technical handbook and it's hilarious. Are you giving it to him in the hospital or before the baby is born? I'd do that book, a favorite soda, snacks, some goggles and face mask (for changing diapers, just funny), and maybe a new game for his iPhone...for those nights that maybe HE'S UP! :)

timbuk2 makes a "man" diaper bag. it looks like a trendy messenger bag in black but it's got all he needs on the inside! I bought this for my hubs so he doesn't have to carry around my super cute Coach bag :D

I made something similar for H when I sprung the news on him.  He's a police officer.  I put it in all in a black tool belt and swapped it out with his regular duty belt.  It was pretty funny and he loved it!

I like the face mask idea! That is funny! I plan on giving it to him in the hopital. Not sure if i will do it before the baby is born or after when we are in our recovery room.

Coupons for sex at 6 weeks, a night off so he can get a full 6-8 hours of sleep (he's usually my night nanny bringing me the baby so I can breastfeed), or a day off that he can spend doing whatever he wants (a nap, watch TV, go out with friends, etc.) You can get pretty creative with the coupons...ours tend to get rather X-rated. :)
