Vent about Hubby

Ladies, am I out of line? We ordered our LO's crib online early because estimated delivery date was not until the new year. The crib showed up late October unexpectedly. I have been asking my husband to set it up to make sure all the parts are there and there is no damage. He said we had to wait for the nursery to be painted. We than painted the nursery 2 weeks ago. Still the crib is in the box. Am I being ridiculous? I am getting very upset because even if I was't pregnant and could move the box, I don't know much about assembling furniture. (Though I know I would try). I know LO is not due until March and that we probably won't be using it right off the bat. However I own a flower shop so I am in my busy season now right up until after Valentine's day. And I would like to be able to relax after that and not be stressed out about the crib.

I think your more anxious to familiarize yourself because it arrived early. If your crib came when it was expected you would not think twice. Please relax its not that bad, I understand your going to be busy but give him some time, he didn't plan to assemble the crib in 2012

I think there are bigger battles to be fought in relationships.  Let YH slide a bit on this and after the holidays try asking him again.  He may just be overwhelmed.

This. He's probably thinking as long as he does it by end of Jan then what's the big deal.

Just start putting it together. Once he sees you struggling he will be forced to do it for you. Not even kidding, this works great.

Haha that is what I was thinking too.  I would plop myself down on the floor with some music and start working on the crib. Husband sees pregnant lady working feverishly on said crib and guilt would ensue.

I love and respect my DH more than anything in the world, but I have been known to pull this a few times in our relationship ;o)

I agree with this too.  We assembled our crib shortly after it arrived because we wanted to make sure everything was in order.  As it turns out, some of the hardware was defective, and I managed to get the last set of hardware the store had in stock - otherwise we would have had to wait until January!  Also, putting together the crib we got was definitely a 2-person job, so if you can, I would do it while you're still able to help out.

I was in the same boat and luckily talked my husband into putting the crib together and guess what, it was damaged and we needed to send it back!  So glad we opened it up early!!!  I just told him I am in the nesting phase and need this right now, so i'd appreciate his understanding.

Good luck and congrats!

I know how you feel! We just painted the nursery this week and are probably going to set up the crib in the next few days. It will just ease my mind and there's no harm in having it set up. Also, like you said, I want to check for damage/missing parts as it can only be returned within 30 days of purchase! If it's stressing you out, just explain to hubby that it's one of those slightly irrational pregnancy moments.. you want it done and won't be able to relax until it is so just do it! lol
