Does anyone else feel this way?

Does anyone else feel guilty putting their LO in their swing? When she gets fussy and I can't find a way to soothe her I will put her in the swing.. I feel like I'm abandoning her or something. Or if I need to clean or cook supper I will put her in it, otherwise I would never get anything done! But when I do, I can't help but feel guilty.

I would get nothing done if not for the bouncer. I don't feel guilty using it, I actually feel more guilty if I don't use it and my house is a mess and dinner isn't ready.  A lot of my friends feel like you though, so I'm saying it's a pretty normal feeling. Smile

My LO doesn't nap well, or regularly.  So, honestly if I can get him to sleep for 20 minutes I will use the swing, the bouncer, the boppy... whatever I can.  I do not feel guilty at all!

I have to put my LO in the swing, bouncy seat, or boppy to keep my own sanity at times.  She likes them all so I don't feel guilty at all.  At first I thought she would associate those items with me not wanting to be around her.  I don't see it that way anymore.  She is very fussy all the time so, if it is what keeps her calm, then I say do it.

I feel guilty too but he freaking LOVES that thing.  He prefers it!  It kind of hurts my feelings that it makes him happier than I can!

I feel guilty but more for selfish reasons. I would love to cuddle and hold him all day but I know it is important for him to have some independent time too as well as it is important for me to have time to get some things done like eat lol.

 My LO starts daycare next week and I have been trying to give him more independent time because they will not hold him all day there.

My little girl is the same way! Just about the same age as your son, too. Hoping it's just a phase.nsome days she'll do great in her room, swaddled with music playing. But other days the only way I can get her to sleep for longer than 45 min and take a good nap is to put her in the swing! Was worried about spoiling her but glad to know somebody else is in the same boat.

Don't feel bad, if DS is getting grumpy, I often put him on his change pad for a while, it's his favourite place! Keeps me sane too.

Yes! I feel so guilty.. when I need to do something she gets fussy and wants to be held.. and so I put her in her swing and she is calm, but then I feel terrible cause she falls asleep and she just wakes from a 2 hour nap! I am trying to keep her awake too, so when I am finished doing whatever I am doing I get back out to wake her up for a few .. :(
