New to posting...

I am new to posting, but have been lurking for awhile Embarrassed  To give you some background, I am 31 (almost 32) as is my husband and we have been trying for our first since May 2012.  I know that is not very long at all, but I just wanted some advice from all you pros.  I have the pink pad app on my phone and have been keeping up with my cycles that way (I range from 32-39 day cycles).  This past month I used the 20 day OPK from CBE and we did the BD once daily for 4 days prior to my positive, on the day of my positive and 2 days after.  Well AF just arrived today (13 days after my positive OPK) Sad I have a BBT thermometer that I bought a few months back but I am horrible at remembering in the morning and haven't been consistent with it (anyone have any tips for remembering to do this first thing in the morning....I have it right beside my alarm clock and still can't remember).  Just to add to my story as to why I am getting so discouraged so quickly is that both my mother and sister have had fertility troubles.  My mother had multiple miscarriages (I don't think they ever figured out why) and my sister had an elevated prolactin level which caused her to never have a period (but she has had 2 successful pregnancies with femara...sp?).  I did go to the doctor right after we started trying to make sure that I was actually ovulating.  They said based on bloodwork it appeared that I ovulated that month but that my prolactin level was mildly elevated so they rechecked that 2 months later and it was normal.  I have heard that your bloodwork can look normal, but an ultrasound can show there are still problems?  I guess I am just expecting to fail based on my family history and it is getting very frustrating (especially when everyone around you is announcing their fabulous news).  Any tips, advice, encouragement would be appreciated.

**Sorry if my abbreviations are wrong/misplaced.  I am trying to learn all the lingo!

I'm still pretty new to this, but I think that knowing your cycle is important even, and maybe especially, if you have fertility issues. You will want to be able to give the doctor as much info as you can if that time comes.

OPKs don't tell you that you are ovulating. They only tell you that your body is preparing to O. The only way to confirm O is by temping.

I set my alarm for an earlier time than I would otherwise get up, specifically so I can temp. I'm not sure what else to tell you as far as how to remember it.

Just wanted to tell you welcome and good luck. I really don't know much about fertility issues and such.

The phone apps (minus FF) are usless. I have no help for remembering to temp, you just need to remember. I temp as soon as my alarm goes off. I know its important and just don't forget.

I am also too flaky to remember to temp and I am always up a couple of times in the night anyways so I am not sure how accurate it would be.  I just wanted to offer some comfort in saying that my sisters (3 of them) had fertility problems and I was convinced I would as well.  It did take us a year to get pregnant with our first but I didn't have the problems my sisters had. Good luck!

Welcome and good luck! I'm sorry you're stressed about TTC, it happens to us all at one point or another.

I was super interested in finding out more about my cycle and actually looked forward to waking up and temping every morning and now it's just habit. I believe they say it takes 21 days to make a habit of something :)

Do you wake up at the same time every day? That might help you get into a routine of temping in the mornings?! Or perhaps try putting a sticky note on your alarm clock so when you go to hit snooze or turn it off you'll feel it and remember to temp.

This is a really good point. I can't wait to find out when in my cycle I ovulate. I'm going to be ridiculously excited the day I get crosshairs, lol.

I never got a chance to chart with having PCOS and never having a cycle on my own our REI told us Clomid and IUI was our route but hope you get a BFP soon. DH and I have been married almost 13 years, I became baby crazy after the first year and know its been a long hard road to see everyone around you get their miracle. Last month was the first month taking Clomid and after the second ultrasound my follicles weren't big enough to do the trigger shot and IUI I bawled my eyes out. It's hard not to get down when it doesn't work but after seeing so many friends have good luck with treatments they have it gives hope.

If you have a smart phone maybe try setting the alarm on your phone for a few minutes before/after your alarm goes off to remind you? Just a suggestion I use mine as reminders.

Me: 31 DH: 33 Married : 12 Years going on 16 years together TTC since 9/2001 11/2012 100 MG Clomid 12/2012 200 MG Clomid: IUI 12/26 2 Week Wait Praying for a miracle

Welcome!  Just try your best with temping.  I miss days here and there but overall it has become a habit.  I leave it out in my line of sight for when I wake up.  I too wake up randomly during the night but I still temp.  I feel like it might not be perfectly accurate but I'm trying.  Good luck!

TTC since 10/11 Started testing 1/13 HSG, Saline Sono, BW, MRI for slightly high Prolactin All tests came back normal DH- SA normal Diagnosis: Unexplained 3/13 Clomid 50mg/trigger/IUI #1/Endometrin BFN 4/13 Clomid 100mg/trigger/IUI #2/ Endometrin BFN 5/13 Clomid 100mg/trigger/IUI #3/ Endometrin ???
