It never rains...

I can't imagine what else could go wrong with my body at this point. My biopsy results came back as cin 2. Totally not good. I cried the whole way home and am fighting the urge to throw up. I go in Wednesday to discuss treatment options. My hysteroscopy was scheduled for the 17th but will probably be postponed now due to my body hating me so badly. Of course I'm thinking the worst case scenario; cancer, a year delay before continuing IF treatments, hysterectomy, no children. I don't understand why I can't have one thing go right. I'm so scared and nervous I don't even know what to do with myself. If anyone has any knowledge on this topic please feel free to share your experience.

Hey! Mine was CIN 3- which means it was basically cancer cells already, and they were able to cut it all off with the LEEP and I'm fine! It was a quick outpatient surgery, similar to a Lap. CIN 2 isn't cancer yet, and you caught it before it was, so that's what's important. Yes, you'll have to have 8 million repeat pap's, but it will be gone. I know it's hard. I cried for days too. I am so so so sorry that you are having to deal with it. It's just not fair. I'm always here if you want to talk!!!

I had a LEEP about a year ago for a cin2:3 hgsil... It's true, there are a ton of follow up paps that come with the territory. But the LEEP was more scary than painful in the end, and has very good success rates.

We made a point to tell our doc we were planning around fertility intentions, and she tried to be conservative in what she took while maintaining the integrity of my cervix.

I haven't seen the results heh weak humour, but according to the docs who've looked since it healed FAST and beautifully. I felt cruddy for a day, and didn't want anyone poking around down there for a couple weeks, but it really was okay pretty fast.

Good luck. I hope your healing goes smooth and you get good margins on what they remove :

Same sex couple - 31 years old - donor sperm, carrying our first due to dx of DOR/POF in Nov. 2012.

Low AMH, AFC - 6, Normal FSH, SS-A (RO) Antibodies (Autoimmune issues), tubes clear

IUI# 1 - December 19 - Done too early (24-36hrs before Ovulation) - BFN

IUI# 2 - January 16 - Femara + HCG trigger - BFN

IUI# 3 - March - 150-225iui Puregon, stimmed 16 days with only 1 follicle - nearly missed surge so no trigger - Progesterone - BFN.

IUI # 4 - "Pokey-Pokey" April 9 - 100mg Clomid CD 3-7, HCG Trigger + Progesterone - 2 follicles! IUI done after one O'd and before the 2nd one did. - BFN

...Moving on to trying to get my Partner pregnant with donor sperm. Hoping to come back and try with me, or do IVF with my DP's eggs eventually. My nerves are too frazzled for now

Getting Married with a Love Party in June 2013 to the amazing Healz413!

I'm so sorry :(     I had a similar incident as Aurora....I can't remember what stage it was in because it was nearly 10 years ago but I had a LEEP done and been fine ever since. The LEEP was no big deal...I went home that day and took care of myself in my college town apartment. Before the LEEP, I had cryotherapy and a few colposcopys too so I was no stranger to the GYN office. I hope they give you some good treatment options and that it doesn't delay you too much!!!

We weren't actually in the IF world at that point, still getting our ducks aligned, if you will.....

That said, the rec was two weeks before anything inside at all, and 4 before considering any sperm up there infection risk. But being lesbians, semen wasnt really a problem for us... I would guess you would be good to go within 4 to 6 weeks... By my 3 month appt they said the healing was pretty done and they could barely see scarring...

I was scared too... I had visions of the worst, but it really was okay.

You are so strong and brave! It's another (TOTALLY SUCKY) bump in the road, but you will face it and get through it like a champ! Lots of hugs and prayers coming your way.

((((HUGS))))

I too have had a LEEP for cin II and it might have been III as well, I can't remember at this moment. They were able to remove it all and the recovery wasn't too bad. The recommendation that i got was to wait 3 months to TTC again, but I have seen stories of ladies conceiving within those three months that had a successful pregnancy. It was probably 2 or 3 weeks before I could have sex. The procedure itself is fairly quick.

I am still dealing with having a pap every 6 months, with an occasional colpo as well. So far nothing has progressed beyond just watching it closely.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or need anything. I know it's scary, but please try not to worry too much!

Again, I'm so sorry and (((huge hugs)))

I was awake, but I've seen some ladies say they were given twilight sedation. I think it just depends on the doctor.

Im not familiar with laser. But I *think* the LEEP can be more precise than cryo and they can only remove the part that has the abnormal cells, not just treat the entire cervix. Again, I also think it depends on how wide spread they think the cells are. If its only a confined area, the LEEP, IMHO, would be the way to go.

I wasn't given a choice. My doc didn't know how extensive it was going to be, so I was completely knocked out and we did the whole thing through outpatient surgery. She told me going in that she was going to either do a LEEP or a Cold Knife Cone (horrible name, isn't it??). The LEEP simply scrapes off the top layer, while the CKC actually takes a cone like chunk out of the cervix. Obviously the CKC is more invasive. So I was knocked out so she could do either, just in case the CKC was needed. Turns out the LEEP was able to get everything, with clear margins. I would talk to your doc and see what he/she recommends. I do have a friend who did the cryo, and her doc just did it as part of the office visit (ouch!) with no general anesthesia.

I was awake, but she numbed the cervix really good, and I took a lorazepam before the procedure (that was already prescribed to me).   I also took two Aleve before the procedure as well.

Between the Lorazepam and the Aleve I was good.  Aleve can mess with your fertility cycle, but if you're not trying this cycle it should be fine by the next one.

What do you think about other treatments like cryo and laser?

I asked about Cryo, and the doc basically said that it was more likely that it would be more precise, with less taken off, and a less chance of recurrence with the LEEP.    Also because she didn't know how deep it would likely be in the beginning, she wanted thought that cryo and laser might not be able to get the deeper cells in the same way, and I'd have to do the whole thing again in 6 months.
