Low progesterone...8 at 7dpo
Oh, I thought you meant you were currently taking it on CD2. 8 at 7dpo is borderline, they look for 10 or above on a non-medicated cycle. Have you had any other testing done?
they haven't done any other testing at this point...what would they do next? I chart and have a short lp of 9 days average.
For me, I did progesterone suppositories (like crinone) for 5 months after I had other testing done (CD3 bloodwork, a follicular ultrasound, an HSG, SA for my husband). I had a miscarriage in those 5 months and my progesterone was very low during that short pregnancy. After that, my consistently low P4 levels (3.5 at 7dpo) and my PCOS diagnosis - I moved onto Clomid.
The theory was that I was releasing immature eggs that were not producing enough progesterone and even PIO shots were not enough to supplement it. Clomid helped my body produce better follicles and I did achieve pregnancy in 1 out of 6 Clomid cycles (it was ectopic) and then my current pregnancy was from injectible medications.
If you've been trying over a year (your ticker doesn't really say) your doctor may choose to do the full IF workup and see. Or they might just have you do crinone for a few months before moving onto other testing and further treatment.
