We decided to head into the ER. They had to catheterize her twice but it showed no infection. The ER was traumatizing for her. They had the air on in the room and she was SHAKING. I demanded a blanket and they said anything more than a sheet wouldn't help her fever. So I climbed in bed with her.
Then they tell me that she must have an ear infection because one of her ears is a little red. She has tubes that are fully functioning. If it were an ear infection, then they would be clogged (my DS is on his 4th set of tubes and she is on her first- I have been through this before).
Now, I just checked her temp. 105! Took it again to confirm and it was 104.8. So now we are holding cold rags to her neck and head and back. I'm a nervous wreck!
I'm so sorry you/she are going through this. 105 is febrile seizure material. Did they do anything else besides a urine culture? Chest xray? Labs?
I would call the on call doc at your ped office.
