I was induced at 40w2days because of two really weird things, haha. 1 I had a bad pregnancy rash similar to PUPPS that caused me to be extremely itchy all over my stomach and increasingly down my legs and up to my arms the closer I got to my due date. I couldn't take anything and topical cream and oatmeal bath was no longer cutting it. The skin around my stretch marks got so bad it began to bleed, sorry for the tmi. 2 at 40w2d I woke up in the middle of the night with a tiny scratch on my face that was bleeding. This thing was so super small, but no matter what I did I couldn't get it to stop bleeding. I didn't wake DH up until I had gone through half a roll of paper towels. At this point I started to get nervous, I knew I wouldn't bleed out, but I had also been bleeding out of this tiny thing on my face for hours. I finally got it to stop and fell asleep, DH went to work. Well a few hours later it started bleeding again, but more intense. I went through a whole roll of paper towels keeping pressure on this tiny spot. Called my doctor who suggested putting a bandaid on my face, but when I explained that it was bleeding too fast and the bandaid was just slipping right off they sent me to ld to have a look for themselves. Apparently I had an open capillary on my face, totally random, the nurses and doctors had never seen anything like it. It took forever to get a huge thick gauze pad taped over the area. Then the doctor came over to peek and it took another 20min to get another gauze pad back on the thing. The nurses wanted to cauterize my face to close the capillary, the doctor decided to induce because pregnancy was causing the blood flow.
At that point I got a shot of Benadryl for the rash and hydrocortisone cream. My face continued to bleed for the next 18 to 20 hours until I was getting ready to push... Then suddenly my crazy weird symptoms had ended and it was time to focus on delivering my baby girl. Sorry for the novel, totally weird and unique story, haha. I was just glad I got to take the gauze pad off in time for pictures, although DH made sure to get plenty with it on too.
