At my office we go in. Then we get weighed, BP check and pee on a strip (testing fr protein, sugar and other things in your urine). Talk about the strip if there is an issue. If not it goes in the trash and we are taken to our room.
If you are far alone enough (usually about 10 weeks or more) they try to find the heartbeat with the handheld doppler. Before then though they just ask you how you are feeling, questions, concerns etc. They measure your belly and you are on your way. If you don't get an ultrasound the appointments are really quick. Like 20 minutes tops.
