jlsimon56:People put the periods in to prevent google from finding the post.
This. Especially if it's an unusual name. If I wanted to come here to vent about a friend who named her baby Zaidyn Jaxon or something I'd throw punctuation in there so that they couldn't google the name and find my post.
Not stupid...I had the same question too! Maybe we're both stupid :) Also, your little girl is precious! I see that she is adopted...I am too, so I have a special place in my heart for adopted children and their parents :)
I might be in the minority, but it think its pretty dumb to do that with names that aren't extremely rare. You don't need to add periods into the name Brady or Nicholas. Or even Azalea or Socrates. It's one thing if the kid's name is Xzeynia or something where there is nothing in the world with that spelling. But most of the time I roll my eyes at the names people attempt to "google proof".
