Here we go again

Had my dr. check in this am.  I've apparently only gained 1 lb thus far but they're fine with it and so am I.  Of course, the mom in me worries that DS2 isn't growing.  Well apparently, he has taken a page from his big brother's play book and is measuring 1.5 weeks ahead.  DS1 consistently measured 1.5-2 weeks ahead and was a 10 lb baby 12 days early.  They said this morning that they would guess it's a genetics thing that I grow big babies and not a blood sugar issue.  The Dr. is speculating that DS2 is going to be between 9 and 9.5 lbs.  Growth scan in 5 weeks to take a peek at my not so little dude.  So, here we go again.  Bring on the "he's a hoss", "how much do you feed him", "Whopper Jr" comments again.  Big Babies are awesome  Big Smile

My DS was just over 10 lbs too.  They are already guessing this baby is around 8 pounds already.  I grow 'em big too!  And yeah, the comments get old don't they?  Oh well, as long as they are healthy.  Good luck with your big little baby :)

I just posted about this. DD was 10.5, and I just had a sizing U/S with this LO, and he's 8 pounds now, estimating about 9.5 to 10 at full term.

It's also a genetics thing with me -- I don't have GD.

I have also only gained 11 pounds -- more than your 1, but I was definitely wondering before today how I could be measuring 3 weeks ahead and only have gained 11 pounds. Now I know LO is 8 of that...so I guess once he's out, I will find I have lost weight underneath the pregnancy! Probably same with you.

Oh I love big babies!! My DS was 11 lbs and I have no idea with this baby yet how big she is. I'm measuring right on but I was with DS too until 37 weeks. I do have GD with this one but didn't with my first so I think mine might be a combo of genetics and blood sugar. Either way I love big babies!!
