thought we were one and done.....

We have a beautiful 6 1/2 mo old boy.  I wanted to go on BC right after our baby was born and chose Depo-Provera shot because it was compatible with breastfeeding and we were planning to be one and done.  Well, DH and I had the talk last night and decided that we would like to try for one more.  Problem is I'm on my 2nd shot (got it Nov 1, it will be out of my system Feb 1), and unfortunately I am reading that it may take 1-2 years to conceive again.   Bummer!!!  Anyone have any luck or know anyone who got PG within a shorter amount of time after going off depo?  stories please....TIA

TTC#2 Since July 2011
Me: 29, had two blocked tubes - left was cleared during lap&dye, right was unable to be cleared. PCOS & Stage 2 Endo. DH: 31, SA = perfect.
CLOMID: 4 rounds, 50mg + TI = BFN's.
FEMARA: 1 round = no response.
12-24-2012 : Laparoscopy, Softball sized cyst/endo/scar tissue removed.
Cycle #14 - Feb 2013 : 50mg clomid. Ovidrel Trigger. IUI on 2/14/13 = thin lining, multiple cysts.
Cycle #15 - no meds, still have cysts, no follicles. Boo!
Forced break. Continuous BCP for 6 weeks to give my jacked up ovaries a break.
Cycle #16 actively trying: May/June plan: Femara, Ovidrel Trigger, IUI! Bring iiiiit!

I'm not a doctor, but Depo totally screwed up my cycles.  After I went off Depo I went on the pill for a month and that regulated my cycles.  Maybe you could talk to your doctor about that?

You might have better luck asking this question in 1st tri.

Only thing I have heard is that it can take a while to get pregnant when off of the shot. So I ain't much help.

I would think (hope) that since you have only been on it for 2 doses, it won't be as built into your system as people who have been on it for years, so it will take less time to get out of your system, but I'm not a doctor. And I second asking on 1st tri to see what ladies over there say. Good luck!

I was on the Depo for about a year several years ago then when to nothing but being careful for a few years then back to the pill and now I'm trying for number 1. The whole time I was on the Depo I didn't have a period but it came back as soon as I was off it..now I know that doesn't necessarily mean I O'd but everyone's body is different..you haven't even been on it that long...it can take a normal healthy couple a year to get pregnant..GL I hope everything works out for you!
