Final Two Poll

You may remember that I posted a few weeks back that we had decided on Greyson Elliot for our little man. Well, despite the fact that we did not mention this to anyone (even family) another couple in our small community just named their daughter Gracen Elizabeth! DH and I are NOT throwing our first choice out, but we know these two will end up in school together so we have decided to have a second name ready and wait until his birth to decide for sure.

Siblings are Carys Jo and Sawyer Burt. We like both Reed and Rhys as MNs. I think DH is leaning toward Rhys as it is a Welsh name (like Carys) and his family line is from England Wales.

Thanks ladies :)

P.S. We decided on the spelling Elliot as that is how it has been used in Dh's family :)

Which do you prefer?

  • Elliot Reed (49.3%)
  • Elliot Rhys (50.7%)
  • Total Votes: 152

I like both of them, but am leaning more towards Rhys as the middle name since it has meaning for DH.

I really like both, though I lean toward Rhys. (I also prefer the Reid spelling.)

Just to throw something else out there- have you thought about Graydon? It's similar to Greyson- but different and I find it to be more masculine.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I mentioned to DH that we also consider

Grady Elliot and Graydon Elliot or Grey Elliot (As incorporating the color name Grey/Gray was our original intent.)

Sometimes it feels like we take one step forward and two steps back! But, I know that when he arrives we will choose the perfect name :)

Since Scrubs still airs on syndication all the time and probably will for quite a while, I voted Rhys.

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.

Ha!  Good call on the Scrubs reference!

I voted for Rhys so all kids get a Y in their names.  But based on that, I might switch Elliot to Grady or one of the other Grey names.  But I love Elliot too.  I can see why this is difficult!

ETA: I just reread what you wrote and I think I am leaning more towards Grady or Greydon, etc. now.  Good luck!

It's too bad your name choice was used before you had a chance. Especially as Gracen or Greyson is a boys name through and through...I like Elliot Rhys it sounds very nice together

I like Elliot so much better than Greyson!

I don't think you can go wrong with these MNs, but I voted for Rhys.

This.  And I like the flow of Elliot Rhys more.  I don't care for Grady or Graydon.  I would stick with Elliot.

I voted for Elliot Reed, but I like either.  I think Rhys sounds a little too similar to Carys.  Also, Reed is English too.

MrsGlaedr:

I see that we keep getting this response...but we have never seen even one episode of this show.

I think we have settled on Rhys as our alternative MN. DH has always had Reed on his list of FN with every one of our children. "R" is a popular MI in my family and we like short MN with our long last name so that is why Reed was an option. Plus, I think it sounds nice.

But we had no idea that Elliot Reed was on a program! When we named our DS Sawyer we found out during the c-section that it was a main character on some program...I think maybe "Lost?'
