When to stop swaddling

When do I stop swaddling LO at night?

A lot of people do it up to 3-4 months and sometimes longer. I would think once they can roll over it's probably best to keep their arms out. My boy is almost 3 months and he sleeps so well when swaddled that I may never stop!

I stopped swaddling my son around six months because I found him on his side in the middle of the night. I didn't want him to make a full roll and not be able to use his arms. But he slept so well in it I did it as long as I could.

Usually until they can roll over. Then it's not safe if they can't use their arms. You can transition out of swaddling by leaving one arm out for a few nights, then both arms out, then move to a sleep sack.

Just asked the pedi this at our 2 month appointment.  She said same thing as PPs, stop once they can roll over or around 5-6 months whichever comes first.

We stopped around 6 weeks.  She did not like swaddling - we only do it now when she is really overstimulated and needs to have a break from too much sensory input.
