How Many Days of Stimming???

As I understand the average time frame for stimming is 10 days.  How many days do you ladies typically stim?  I'm getting nervous b/c of work obligations and conflicts on my calendar that might fall on the day of my retrieval/transfer.  UGH  working and going through IVF is nearly impossible!

Unfortunately, you have 0 control over this :-(  It IS hard to juggle working and IVF, but you just need to be able to go with the flow.  I stimmed for 8 days then coasted for a few before ER.  From 1st stim to ER was 12 days.

Over all, I was late to work 7 days, took 3 days off, and worked p/t 1 day.  It's a drag, but if you get your take-home baby, it's worth it!

FX and GL!

I stimmed 7 days...well I did the injections on day 8, went in for monitoring and then found out I needed to trigger that night. So it wasn't 8 full days of stimming. There is just no way to know and everything else really has to take a backseat. My IVF was bumped up 2 weeks and the timing was really bad since my boss was going to be out a lot during that time (I had to absorb her responsibilities) but I made it work. FX everything works out well for you!

I did 10 full days of stims, trigger early AM on day 11, ER on day 12.  I know, it was really hard to try to anticipate what days you will be out and not schedule meetings/calls/whatever on those days.  But, just do your best.  Hopefully, even if no one at work knows what is going on, you can always use the "medical procedure" excuse, most people will understand that.

TTC #1 7/10, Me (31)- Dx DOR (AMH 0.6); DH (30)- normal

I stimmed for 9 day with ER on day 11.  I was kind of thrown for a loop because once I went in for my 1st monitoring appt I had to go every.single.day!  But, as PP said, it will ALL be worth it if this cycle works.  You want the best chance possible so you just gotta follow your RE's instructions b/c they know what they are doing.  I will say though that this has definately been more of an "obligation' than I thought....but I'm on board.  Good luck with everything!

For my 1st IVF, I stimmed 13 days, then trigger, so 15 days from start of trigger to ER.  This time, I started microdose lupron 2 days before stims, stimmed for 11 days, then trigger.

One interesting point is that if this is your first time, you might go a little longer because your RE will likely start you off at on a conservative dose, and increase as/if needed.

For example, my fist IVF I started out on 150 each of Menopur (2 vials) and Follistim, and ended up increasing until I was taking twice that amount, and then I coasted down at the end.  This last time, my dose was consistent the entire time I stimmed (225 each), with the exception of Follistim coasting at the end, like last time.

Like PP said, it's frustrating to have no control over the situation, but it's ultimately worth all the inconvenience when it results in a baby.  It's really only about 2 weeks out of your life and it will go by pretty quickly, even if it doesn't feel that way at first.

I did my 10th set of stim injections last night.  Went in for monitoring today.  Waiting on bloodwork to see if I will trigger tonight.

PPs are right.  No one knows how this is going to work for each individual, unfortunately.  My RE thought *for sure* I would have ER by Wednesday at the "very latest"...but now we are looking at Thursday as the earliest.  My DH has a HUGE meeting on Thursday, but we can't stress about this.  It is completely out of our control.

 GL with work!

Me: 28; DH: 35 1/2008 -- Started TTC
3/2009 -- FD discovered at 17 weeks
1/2011 -- Lap and HSG reveal Stage IV Endo and both tubes blocked.

May, June, August 2012 -- IUI#1-3 -- Letrozole + Bravelle + Ovidrel trigger = BFN
