I heard my babies heart beat again today, and this time I was smart and recorded it on my phone them counted them while I had my mom time me and it came out to 156.
Now I keep hearing everyone say that if its over 140 its a girl, is that true? It was true for my mom for both and and my brother, was that just the way it was or is that pretty true? Just curious!

I have heard many moms say it wasn't true for them, however it was true for me. My son's was always in the 140s and this one (a girl) is always between 155-165.
screw old wives tales! My baby's heartbeat was 174, 150, 148, 150 -- it's a boy.
it was true for me and my brother tho - my brothers was always around 130, I was always around 140
it's 50/50 either way, don't put too much stock into it
It's an OWT but it was the only one that was true for DS.
This baby started out with a higher heartbeat but has been in the 130s the last two appointments, so we'll see (we're team green again).
It's an old wives tale based on the stats that adult women typically have higher heart rates than adult men. Our LO has been a solid 150 at each appt, it's a girl. I on the other hand have very low blood pressure and fairly low resting heart rate so I didn't put too much stock in it. We thought we were having a boy because of my dreams. Ha!
A higher fetal heart rate can also come after you've had caffiene.
My best friend's son's HR was 167. (she actually just found out the sex yesterday!)
Old wives tales are fun, but I don't put too much stock into them.
I'm having a boy and his heartbeat has ranged from 150-155 bpm. My best friend is having a girl and her heartbeat is usually in the 170's.
