Nipple cream?

Can anyone recommend their nipple cream?  I've heard Lansinoh is the best?  I've heard that it's a good idea to put some in your hospital bag?  Any other BF-related items that I should have in my hospital bag (other than nursing bras)?

I'm also using Lansinoh. Don't forget breast pads!

I liked that one the best too. My hospital gave me a tube of it so I never had to buy any. I also liked those gel things.

I use Lansinoh, until I had so many issues my OB had to prescribe an RX nipple cream..it was expensive, but it helped so much...can't remember what it is called, but keep that in mind if you end up having nipple soreness issues.

Since DS had some blood sugar issues right after birth due to my GD, we had to supplement with formula, so the nurses had me pump to help stimulate my milk production, so you may want to bring your pump...my hospital had one for me to use, but as with everything else they charged for it.

I also brought the boppy with me, it really helped since I had a c/s to help keep DS of the incision site while we were in the hospital.

Lansinoh - and use the lansinoh breast pads as well.

i found the johnson and johnson ones STUCK every time! that's pain!!!

i also bought 6 different tubes of the lansinoh lanolin - keep one in every location you may breast feed and put some on every time you finish feeding. don't let your nipples dry out!!

EarthMamaAngelBaby or MotherLove both make great nipple creams that are made from natural ingredients, unlike Lansinoh.

I liked Medela more than Lansinoh. Medela wasn't as thick/sticky so I wouldn't have to rub as hard to get it on. I was in SO much pain that touching my nipples at all was toe-curling. I also ended up getting an Rx cream (most commonly referred to as All Purpose Nipple Ointment) that was comprised of an antibacterial gel, an antifungal gel and something else I can't remember. That stuff was a lifesaver when I kept getting mastitis and thrush.

I've been using the Medela lanolish cream. My hospital provided me with a few small tubes.

I'm going to use coconut oil.

Same. I've read continued use of lanolin can encourage thrush, whereas coconut oil has antifungal/microbial properties and is 100% safe for baby to ingest :)

I like the Medela lanolin cream.  It is super thick though, so put a bit on your fingers and rub together to warm it up and make it easier to apply.  And breast pads!!

I will be ordering one of these or the Bella B Nipple Butter.  Not a fan of the ingredients in Lansinoh either!  Especially when the baby is ingesting them.

I had my baby on the 26th and developed REALLY sore nipples...I've been using both the Lansinoh Lanolin and Earth mama nipple butter.  I like them both, and I've needed both to get my nipples to recover a bit.  Just a tip, the lansinoh lanolin is pretty firm and hurt me to rub onto my cracked/scabbed nipples...until I started carrying the tube around in my pocket.  That warms it up and makes the texture of the product much softer and easier to put on.
