Are these pronounced the same way?
Which spelling do you prefer?
FI and I during long distance relationship periods will read the same book to feel closer. The first we ever read was The Reader. The lead female roles name is Hanna.
Spring Dance Party
rockopera:without the H on the end, it feels incomplete to me.

this, but I'm biased
Hannah/Hanna is on my top girl name list.
My name isn't spelled like the common spelling and my mother did that on purpose and I love it. Yes, I do have to correct people on the spelling, but I don't mind. I like the individuality of it.
Hanna
I prefer Hannah because Hanna looks unfinished to me.
But although I loved that book, I don't think I'd name my child after an illiterate Nazi guard who seduced a teenage boy and killed herself...
ZoeMay06:I voted for Hannah but I like Hanna better now after thinking about you and your DH and your long distance book club for two. That's one of the sweetest things I've heard in awhile!
Haha Thank you! It has helped keep us close over the years.

It wouldn't be so much for the character as the sentiment of the book itself. She wasn't a very good person so I wouldn't want to name a child after HER but as I mentioned in the original comment our mini book club has helped keep our relationship alive while we were apart.
JET29:I like Hannah because it's a palindrome.
Me too

I work with a girl who spells in Hanna and she pronounces in "Hah-nuh" where the first a sounds like "ah" I have always heard Hannah pronounce "Han-uh" with the first a like "apple." If you're going for the short "a," like "apple" I'd keep the "h" at the end, just to be safe.
