It's a bunch of crap. My cousin had tubes in his ears as a child (he's about 28 now), and it wasn't an uncommon procedure back then. My aunt also said last week that she only had one ultrasound with each of her children, so that isn't why he had them.
I noticed that two of my nephews are very susceptable to ear infections. Both of them began daycare around 6 weeks old. Not that there's anything wrong with that (lots of parents can't stay home with their babies for much longer), but I think the increase in ear infections may have to do with being exposed to other kids who are sick at such a young age. I swear, they have ear infections and double ear infections almost every month, and although tubes have been suggested, their parents have decided against them.
