Bought this book AND the software to help me with charting!!  Extremely helfpul for a newbie like you [and myself]!  :)  What To Expect When You're Expecting, version 2008 I think, is also helpful!

DX with ectopic pregnancy at 8 weeks, surgery to remove right tube 01/18/13
Both ovaries and left tube looked healthy and clear, so we'll see what the future holds for us.

For TTC, there is also a What to Expect Before You're Expecting. The writing is crap but there is good info in it.

OP, I didn't really rely on websites or blogs. I read several books, including the ones already recommended. Most of us here use Fertility Friend to chart.
