Speaking of baby bedding, is anyone else not.....

Is anyone else not doing a "theme". I am trying to just stick with colors instead of an actual theme? I am having a girl and orginally was going to do light pink, cream and beige. But saw PB kids and thinking purple/light blue. What is everyone doing?

I'm not doing a theme either. Probably very light grey walls and lots of small fun things that pop with color. We're not doing a bedding set either. Waste of money IMO.

Are you not doing a bedding set because babies are not suppose to have blankets and bumpers, I was thinking of doing the same and just buying multiple sheets.

No theme for me either...we're "Team Green" though I detest green as an interior color so we're going with a tangerine/aqua as our gender neutral. No zoo animals, just patterns!

Because we adopted our first and knew we wouldn't necessarily know the sex in advance, we did a totally gender neutral nursery.  It's not really themed.  I added a chair rail in white, below it's painted beige, above, white with "bubbles" in yellow, light orange, and aqua.  The bedding, I made the skirt with an aqua stripe because I couldn't find anything that worked in a stand-alone crib skirt.  Then I just bought yellow and white crib sheets and that is it!  We never needed a bumper or the fluffy blanket that comes with the bedding set anyway, so it worked out for us.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we movied on to adoption!

I'm not a fan of themes so I went with color too. Actually, I bought neutral bedding with DD using tan (it had a lot of different textures, which was my main focus), cream and light pink so, since we are expecting a boy, it will most likely be tan, cream and light blue. If money was no object, I would love to use grey but I am having a hard time imagining grey with tan. I guess it could work. We'll see.

No particular reason for not doing a theme, there isnt really anything that stands out to me theme wise. But I would like a bedding set minus the bumper. I just cant decide.

I decided to have a theme since LO will be born in the spring! I plan to do all things spring ladybugs and flowers. I havent found colors that I love Im a purple kinda girl.

The bedding sets are super cute, but speaking from STM experience, you don't use much but the fitted sheet. Baby won't have blankets for a long time and even when they do, you probably won't use the crib quilt. Mine covers up with his regular comfort blankets that go with him everywhere.

I made an effort to stay away from a 'theme' but finally gave it to something because a couple friends/sister has really been pushing me.  I ended up picking out the one daddy did NOT like...simply because the colors were more mainstream and will be easier to match.

I didn't do a theme for DD. I'm not really into themes and also didn't want to waste money on a bedding set. We did neutral beige walls with accents in sage and lavender. Got a couple fitted sheets from PBK that coordinated.

This baby will be sharing a room with DD. If its a girl, nothing will change. If its a boy, I'll tone down the lavender and add some blue accents in his bedding or something.

We had a theme with DS, but with this little girl we are using colors instead. 

Her colors are light pink, light purple, and light aqua/blue 

I had originally done DS's room in a neutral Sea Life theme, but since this is a girl, I decided to take the opportunity to do a girly room, since who knows what kind of things she will be into when she gets older.

I'm not doing a theme right now that I know.  I'm not registering for a bedding set because I will not be using a bumper or blanket (SIDS).  I'm not against a theme, I just haven't really found one to love yet.

We are painting the walls gray and decorating with purple.  That way, if LO#2 is a boy, I want to decorate with turquoise, green or yellow.

I wouldn't say I'm doing a "theme" maybe just inspiration? lol! I have pink and white bedding thats french roses so the room will be whisper pink with ruffle curtains and pillows, dried flower wreaths and arrangements and vintage Cinderella pictures (not disney!!!) lol :)

Not doing a theme either.  We did the walls a pale pink, almost white.  The crib is a white iron four poster and the bedding is pink velvet and satin from Restoration Hardware, where we also got the rest of the furniture.  It's grey (silver patina). Basically just an elegant/classic nursery, no theme.

I didn't do a theme with dd. we did purple walls and cream bedding. It was so pretty and sweet. I loved everything about that room. I was going to I themeless with my little boys room to but then I could these adorable car sheets and bumper. It has a matching changing pad cover and it just so cute. So Dh will be painting something on the wall all things cars and trucks related. Im so excited for Christmas to be over so we can finish! But I did love our themeless baby girl room. : good luck to ya!

We didn't do a theme for DD and won't for this one either!!
Married my BEST FRIEND on December 1, 2007. Started TTC in March 2008. Found out we were expecting our first child in October 2008 - but had a m/c in December 2008 - resulting in a d&e. I'm not doing a theme of any sort. The baby will be in my room but I'm not even planning to match the bedding to my room. I'll buy whatever I like when I'm at the store.

Overall it's just such a small thing that doesn't really matter. Especially once the baby is here.

No theme, or even a color scheme really. Baby will sleep in my room for at least 6 months anyway (probably a year like my other daughters did), and when we move her to her room she'll just use whatever blankets and quilts we already have. We never bought a bedding set for any of my kids.

No theme here and we're using the same stuff from DD1.  

No bedding set either since they're a waste of money.  SIL made us a valance and crib skirt and a few sheets and that's all we need.

We did the Pop Monkey theme for DS.  This time I'm not going with a store brought one. Technically most are still doing a theme, because a color or whatever is still the central focus of decorating the room.  

If I have a boy, I'm going to create an "On the Night You Were Born" theme. I'll use the colors found in the book, do a "bight sky" of some sort on the ceiling, and then but bits and pieces that are inspired from the book. If Nemo is a girl, I'm going to go for a vintage royal feel in a dusty pink color.

Not a theme fan either. I like color combos patterns. Maybe a few pieces of decor to pull it together that have a theme. For my daughter I did light pinks greens with a few princess tiara things in the decor that matched like a wall canvas and a baby photo frame. Loved her nursery! This baby I'm either doing lavenders greens and blues for girl or light blues and greens and creme for a boy.

No theme. I'm all about teaching, though....I want letters and numbers everywhere....but I'm SO not into PINK for girl, BLUE for boy....no matter what the sex is in 2 weeks...I want all colors to be bought and used in our room for the baby. Yellows, greens, browns, reds, purple, orange...all colors of the rainbow!

We are actually not bothering with a bedding set at all.  Of course we are going to get crib sheets, but as far as a full bedding set we're not bothering.  From what I have read you can't really use it anyway.

No theme. We rent so we can't do much. We found a bed set with  multiple sheets that we like. We found some cute things in the same color pattern but basically it is going to be white with lots of color.

I am not into themes at all.  The nursery has aqua walls with fabrics that are aqua, navy, coral and lime green.  We are team green so it's gender neutral.

I have had trouble making my mind up with stuff, we are starting the baby room after Christmas and I really need to start putting some thought into things. I decided that I am not going to paint though, it is a nice neutrel color and I thought I would just put stuff on the walls to decorate it.

I am not going to use crib bedding until my little one is old enough to for sure be able to pull the blankets off himself if they cover his face. We do have super cold winters so I think I will just use a sleep sack if I feel they might be cold.
