10 wk old-very dry scalp-lots of hair

My daughter was born with a head full of dark hair.  I have noticed in the last week her scalp is very drying and peeling.  Does anyone else have this problem or know of a shampoo that would be easier on her head?  I was using Johnson's.  Since she has so much hair, I definitely can't put lotion on her.

I think It was suggested somewhere around here to try coconut oil. Leave it on for 10 to 15 min and then gently massage scalp with a baby brush. Then rinse.

May be cradle cap? DS had it and we rubbed almond oil on it after his bath, left it for 10 mins and then brushed his scalp in circular motions.
That cleared it up in a few days! He did loose some hair, but thats all grown back in now!

Look up cradle cap. My Dr told me to put baby oil on the scalp and gently brush it. They make cradle cap kits too with special brushes.

They also told us to comb his hair during every bath.

My dd is the same age and was born with a ton of hair. At her 2 mos appt, I asked the ped how to get rid of her scaly, dry scalp. She said to massage baby oil into her scalp and use a fine tooth comb. It should loosen uf the dry patches. She also suggested to switch from Johnson's to the selsum blue with the green cap. The baby oil has definitely helped pull up the flakes.
