amandalgreene86:How far along are you? I went to the first appointment alone bc I knew I was only about 4 wks. They drew blood, took a urine sample, and did an internal exam. They also gave me a big bag of information and prenatal vitamins. My first u/s was around 9 wks. My DH came to the first u/s and my second appointment. Every doctor is different, but you can call and ask them what will happen at your first appointment. Good luck!
I am 4 weeks now, but I will be 6 weeks 5 days when I go to my first appointment. The reason I think they will do an u/s is because I had a mc @ 6 weeks with my first pregnancy. When I got pregnant with DS, my first appointment was at 7 weeks, and they went ahead checked to make sure everything was ok. My insurance covers 2 u/s (unless I need more for whatever reason), so I would have this first one, and then the 20 week.
