Clingy Baby

My 10 month old has become super clingy lately. She cries the minute I step out of sight even if its for a second. She even cries when I leave her with my husband. Any advice on how we can reverse this?

hi :)
Mine is a little clingy too.....my dh and I just try to redirect with toys and if he is whining to be picked up we try not picking him up so to not reinforce his behavior...now that he is starting to stand and cruise he is starting to get more indipendant too so maybe it will pass with time.  Try the toys redirection.. it really helps...hth's :)

It's separation anxiety.  It will come and go a few times over the first few years of your baby's life.  Then kindergarten will start, and before you know it your kid will be headed off to hang with friends and not looking back and you'll be the one wishing you could cling.  Ride it out, but know that it's just a phase.

Definitely this. The worst thing you can do is give in. I have a girlfriend whose son is a monster at drop of time because she caves instead of walking away. He's almost three now, and as much as I adore him, he is a BIG whiner. So not attractive to the three year old girls in the room.

DS does this sometimes as well, and it is worst in the mornings for whatever reason. I've found that if I tell DS where I'm going, and say "bye-bye" to him, it makes it better.

He is so clingy. It's even worse when he's a little tired. Evenings are rough around here!

This!

I know it can get frustrating at times, but now that my kid is over cuddling, I miss these days.

mine is this was too. Tonite was the worst yet. I literally could not put him down. he wanted to be in my arms, with me standing, the entire night....and tonite is the first nite he has eaten finger foods or solids in three days.....He never acts like this so i was a little worried but after reading your posts i feel better. I also think he may be getting molars as well. he has about ten teeth already...thoughts???
