Transition to crib

Is anyone else trying to transition from pack n play to the crib? I'm trying to switch my 10 week old and it's going horrible. He was a great sleeper and now he will hardly sleep. Every time I put him down in his crib he wakes up and starts fussing within 10 mins. Anybody have any advice on how to do this?? Cause baby isn't sleeping which means mama isn't sleeping and it's just not good...

We are not transitioning but my LO has not taken to the crib at all. Lately I am finding if i let home fall asleep in my arms before I put him down it helps. Then Once he is in the crib I rub his tummy up and down for a few minutes to help get any gas bubbles out and settle him.  I also swaddle him before he falls asleep.  Good luck

We did the crib from the beginning so I don't have advice for your transition, but we did have to rock DS to sleep every night and make sure he was good and asleep before laying him down in his crib.  We swaddled him before we started rocking and then could just lay him down, very gently.

We are going through the exact same thing! Except we have finally transitioned out of our vibrating chair, to our bed, and now on to the pack and play. It is exhausting. He will be sound asleep and the second I lay him into his crib he wakes up screaming, not having it! Our pediatrician gave us some ideas which we are going to try after Christmas...he first suggested that while going through our bedtime routine to put a heating pad onto the mattress so that it is warm and not such a shock when you lay your baby onto the mattress. Also he said to lay the baby in the crib and if cries let him cry for a little while but comfort him by rubbing him or patting him. But DO NOT take him out of the crib unless he needs to be fed, burped, or diaper change. He said that this will take a while but if you keep at it then your baby will get used to it. You just have to keep your baby in there but be there to comfort him. Our pediatrician said it is because the baby doesn't feel safe or secure because we aren't there hope this helps.

We are working on the same, but not totally successful yet. I've found it helpful to transition with the help of "sleep aids". I use his nightlight and white noise lamb in our room while he is in his PNP and then move them to his room when we put him in his crib. I think the familiar objects help soothe him.

Is he swaddled?  That works great for us.

How is your room set-up?  For us, we have the crib and a RnP in our bedroom.  From day 1, we put him to sleep in the RnP, but after MOTN feed/diaper change, we put him in the crib to sleep for he remainder of the night.  Sometimes he gets fussy during MOTN wake, and we put him back in the RnP when he's fussy.  But for the most part, he will sleep in the crib.  Last night we actually put him in his crib from the start and he slept there all night (with 2 MOTN feeds).

We decided after two weeks to move him in his room and out of the pack and play. i found routine works best...bath bottle bed between 9pm and 10. he fusses for about 1/2 an hour and he passes out on his own. he sleeps better in his room! we also got the sleep sack which seems comforting to him. good luck!!
