Eating for 2?

I will be 12 weeks along tomorrow and I was wondering when I will start feeling like I am "eating for two."  I have had food aversions and some cravings but I haven't felt crazy hungry like I've heard I would.  And I feel like I get full very easily.  Does the hunger come a little later?  Because I cerntainly don't feel like I'm eating for two.  I'm almost afraid I'm not eating enough!

I think its different for everyone. Im just always hungry. I eat as much as i can all day long. Not the biggest meals but enough to satisfy me. And always snacking.

Everybody's different as far as hunger goes. The eating for two saying is no longer relevant. You only need an extra snack (300 cal) per day while pregnant. You actually need more calories while breastfeeding than pregnant! Be thankful you aren't hungry and packing on the pounds in the 1st trimester!

I never felt very hungry my first trimester (& only gained 2 pounds). As I am about to go into my second trimester, I'm noticing a difference in my appetite. As long as you are making good choices for you & baby, as well as taking a daily prenatal, you're fine (as I have been told)! Congrats & Merry Christmas!!!

I felt the same way up until a few days ago (16w). I now have just a day here and there, or even an hour here and there, where I'm very hungry. But it's not constant yet. I'm sure your Dr is monitoring your weight and will let you know if he/she is concerned.

DON'T eat for 2!! You will only end up gaining lots of weight and you will wish you didn't after you have the baby. Only add an extra snack throughout the day & continue to eat normally. Don't worry about eating enough, you'll be fine. At 12 weeks I had only gained a couple of pounds. I only ended up gaining 24lbs my entire pregnancy & I was so glad when it came to losing the weight.
