It's a ........

I've posted about my bad ultrasounds before, and of course the anatomy scan wasn't any different. The tech literally huffed and puffed through the entire ultrasound because baby was very active and it took a bit of patience (that she didn't have) to get the measurements she needed. She was completely annoyed and frustrated through the whole thing and made what should have been a wonderful experience, a very unpleasant one. After the tech got all the measurements she needed she asked my husband and I if we wanted to know baby's gender. Granted, the umbilical cord and both hands were between the legs, so there were definitely challenges. However, once she saw this, she immediately removed the probe from my stomach and said rudely "well, I'm sorry but I'm not going to be able to tell you. You're not far along enough anyway." That was basically it, she left the room and my husband and I left without the gender. I'm not a doctor, nor am I a certified ultrasonic technician. But, I know they can see the gender now. If she had been anywhere near nice, had any sort of bed side manner, during the ultrasound and had at least tried for a minute to get the baby to move so we could see the gender... it would be different. I'm sure we're not the only ones that have had experiences like this. The next day we went back to the 3D/4D office we had a sonogram done at 16 1/2 weeks and they were able to confirm the gender. IT'S A GIRL :)

Congrats! You should definitely complain about the technician. She was completely inappropriate.

Congrats on your little girl! And I am sorry to hear that you had such a rude tech. Some of them shouldn't be doing the jobs they do cause they have terrible bedside manners.

Congrats on your little girl! I'm sorry the tech was so awful. You should totally report her. That way the issue can be dealt with and hopefully no one else will be subjected to her horrible behavior.

Congrats on your baby girl! That teach sounds awful. If she thought you weren't far enough along she shouldn't have even offered. You should complain!

Let's try this again :) lol, thank you!! Yes we did file a complaint.  Spoke with my OB directly and expressed our concerns.  He apologized over and over and to no surprise said I wasn't the first to complain.  Hoping they get a new tech so none of their other patients have to go through what we did.

Thank you! We sure have :) My mother passed almost 10 years ago so I knew I wanted to use her middle name if it was a girl.  The first name we just think is adorable.

 Paityn Gwen :) Didn't want to use the common spellings (Peyton, Payton).  We definitely think the way we've chose to spell it is feminine.
