This is what I was going to post when I saw the thread title as well. The author of the IW Guide does a pretty thorough debunking of Shettles, though if I recall correctly, she does say that the studies which disprove it were not big enough to be totally conclusive. Their methodology, however, was far better than what little work Shettles did.
