stinky skin folds

My DS smells funky in the folds of his neck and in the folds of his armpits. I've tried bathing him (of course) and making sure those areas get aired out. However, the kind of mildewy smell returns. Is baby powder ok or is there something better? What have you all tried for baby B.O?

Sweat and milk or formula, spitup all get caught in there and can smell.  Try keeping it clean by running a wet washcloth over it a few times a day and keeping it dry.

Make sure you wipe his neck out with a washcloth several times a day and dry it well.  Is it red?  That means you need to use some Aquaphor or something similar.  If it starts getting gunky it's a yeast infection.  I had the same issue with DD.  She got a couple of yeast infections in her neck folds.

All if this. My DD gets this same thing. We make sure to wash and completely dry her neck after every bath. I apply A D ointment to her neck folds after.

Powder is not good to use with infants because it causes lung damage if they breathe it in. I think corn starch based powders are better but I'd ask your pedi before using.

Honestly you prob just aren't cleaning it as frequently as you should. If you clean the gunk out of there a few times a day, you should be gtg.

Ditto all this information.  Wash well, dry well, and you can apply monistat cream and/or cornstarch if you need to.  Sounds like baby's neck is a bit yeasty!
